Chapter 16

He don't know how many glasses he had drunk, Xavier took another sip of his drink even though he was starting to feel dizzy.

Xavier's a strong drinker, at least he still needs more bottles to get him drunk.

The handsome man occasionally glanced at his cousin, a man in love who was busy with his smartphone. Instead of accompanying him to drink, finish the bottle of drink on the table.

"You petty romance man," Xavier mocked then took a sip of the remaining alcohol in his glass.

Dimitri put on a nonchalant face, not seeming too concerned about his cousin who seemed annoyed at feeling neglected.

Brian and Kenzo, who fell unconscious on the couch, apparently fell earlier due to the amount of alcohol they drank. While Daniel went to book a room after the man moved to the bar counter and chatted with a young woman who was found sitting there alone.

"Heh! Brian wants to go home, you must help him! He can't get up," said Xavier to Dimitri who looked annoyed because his cousin was still busy with his gadget.

"Tsk!" The slanted-eyed man glanced at him while chuckling in annoyance. But he put his phone on the table and walked over to Brian. "Why don't you just do it? You're sitting next to him."

"My head is already spinning, how can I help Brian?" Said Xavier who is now leaning his back on the sofa, closing his eyes. "Can't you see, how many bottles have I had since I came here?"

Dimitri chose to ignore Xavier's grumbling. The man then pulled Brian's unconscious body, then led him towards several people dressed in all black who had just arrived at the entrance. Looks like he's looking for someone.

Dimitri knows them as Brian's bodyguards.

Indeed, this one friend of Dimitri and Xavier, even though he has never appeared to the public let alone known to the public, because of his very protected identity, Brian is not from the common people. The blood and caste that flows in his body even exceed him and Xavier.

Busy taking care of Brian, Dimitri doesn't realize that his cellphone is now in Xavier's hands.

Even though he is dizzy, Xavier still has awareness as well as an unrelenting curiosity about the woman who is currently infatuated with her cousin.

The cellphone in Xavier's hand suddenly lit up, displaying an Instagram account direct message notification. Looking at the account name, it looks like it belongs to a woman.

Xavier believes this account belongs to the woman Dimitri is currently after.

Xavier looked up, looking straight at Dimitri on the other end with a mocking expression. They haven't even reached the stage of exchanging private numbers, only replying to chats via DM. Dimitri had fallen in love.

Xavier shook his head in disbelief, Dimitri was infatuated with a strange woman he still didn't know what she looked like.

"The account name is already weird." Xavier subconsciously muttered mockingly, once he found his account it was very mysterious.

For him, the account name that pretended to be mysterious was already foreign. It's even weirder because his profile photo is just an animated photo. In fact, the contents of his account only contain photos of objects, places, and sights that are captured through a cellphone camera with the most aesthetic angle possible.

Xavier didn't find a single photo of the owner of the account, not even a group photo or hashtag posting at all.

How old-fashioned and anti-social was the woman Dimitri was after?

The handsome man sneered inwardly, however mysterious he was, he was still far behind when compared to his woman, Rachel.

Once again his thoughts returned to Rachel, the woman who now seemed to no longer want to be with him.

Feeling no longer interested, Xavier then put his cellphone back in its original place. Then finally reached for the alcohol bottle on the table.

"Even a dozen bottles of drinks can't get you out of my mind, Rachel," Xavier muttered as he poured it into a glass and took a sip.

Xavier thinks he's not too drunk. It was still lacking because no matter how much he tried to distract her, the image of Rachel never left his head.

Just about to drink the drink for the umpteenth time, Xavier turned his head when a hand grabbed him.

"X, I know you're a strong drinker. But, you drank too much."

Xavier sighed softly, looking annoyed at his impudent cousin Dimitri who snatched the glass and pushed it away from him. "You, bastard! You don't have to worry about it! Come on! return the glass to me!"

Xavier rubbed his face, then leaned his head on the sofa. Dimitri was right, he had had too much to drink. But right now he needed a distraction, and it felt like the dozens of bottles of alcohol he had been drinking were still not enough to distract him from Rachel's shadow.

"I have to take Kenzo to his apartment. If you're too drunk, it will give me trouble, X," Dimitri complained and sat next to Xavier.

"I came here because I really needed a diversion." Xavier's mumbling made Dimitri look at him with concern.

"All of this stresses me out a lot." Xavier ruffled his hair in frustration. "I think I would be crazy."

"Rachel!"

Rachel was just about to get into bed when she faintly heard someone calling her name. This was followed by a loud banging on the door.

The woman in a cow-patterned nightgown then left the room and headed for the living room. The teak wood door was only a few meters in front of her, and the sound and pounding grew louder and clearer. But Rachel's steps stopped as soon as she realized who the owner of the voice was.

"Rachel, I know you're inside!"

Again, the voice called her name. It got louder until Rachel started to worry that the neighbors would be disturbed by it.

She decided to take another step forward and stopped in front of the window. The slender fingers stretched out a few maroon curtains that covered the entire glass to create a gap, to peek from the inside to determine who was the culprit of the rioting on the terrace of her house.

And sure enough, as she suspected and believed, that person was Xavier.
