5 Five

We had packed all of the necessities. My father-in-law had decided to send us to a colder place since he liked cold places. To be honest, I preferred winter over summer too so I was really excited. Although Kyle didn't seem so enthused. "Ah, father! Not Chicago! I can't bear the cold. Besides, it's mid of October, please..." He pleaded but his father seemed determined. "No more excuses, it'll be great for both of you. Now stop nagging me with your nonsense and get ready you'll be late." I chuckled at his pleading state. He looked kinda cute. He instantly glared at me and stomped towards our bedroom. I watched him leave, feeling sorry for him but well he can't argue with his father. "Do you like cold places dear?" He asked me. "Yes, I love winter!" I chirped making him smile. "I knew it from the start that you would love the place I chose for you both. Now have fun and stay safe." He patted my head and I thanked him for his act of kindness. Ah, at least he considered my choices. That was so sweet of him. He reminded me of my father and I felt a need to meet my parents before leaving. "Mr. Anderson, can I go see my parents before we leave?" I asked him. "Ahh, sure dear but do hurry because you'll be late for the flight." I felt so happy.

After bidding farewell to his parents, we left for my parents' house. We were nearing my place. "Please hurry up, I don't want my father to scold me again just because of you." He rolled his eyes. "Sure." I ignored his eye roll and got out of the car. I quickly rang the doorbell. My brother opened the door followed by a widened mouth.

"Serena!!! OMG!!! FINALLY, YOU'RE HERE! WE MISSED YOU SOO MUCH. WE EVEN THOUGHT OF-"

"Henry, I'm in a hurry. Where are mom and dad? I wanna meet them before I leave." I cut him off imagining the annoyed Kyle waiting in the car.

"Oh, sorry sis they are out for grocery shopping. Where are you going?" He asked.

"Well, I and Kyle are going to Chicago for our honeymoon." I smiled.

"Awww, that's romantic. My baby sis has grown into a beautiful woman. Oh well, I'll tell them. Goodbye, sissy. Love you and we'll miss you." He hugged me and I hugged him back. I missed his hugs. I loved my brother dearly and I know I'll miss him the most. "By the way, where's Kyle? Why didn't he come to meet us?" His questions were tearing me from the inside but I had to maintain my calmness. "Well, he's checking the car. There was something wrong with it." I smiled praying that he believed my lie. "Oh ok. Have a safe journey and have fun." He kissed my forehead. I hugged him one last time bidding him goodbye and walking towards the parked car. "Took you long enough." He said sarcastically. "Well, I ain't heartless like you. I love my family." I spat and he started the car. We were now at the airport waiting for our flight. It was quite cold since the winters were nearing. I was sitting in the waiting room, trying to warm myself. I saw Jin approaching me with two cups of coffee in his hands. "I thought you were cold and so was I so I brought us coffee, here." He handed me my cup. "Thanks." I took a sip feeling relieved. Maybe he wasn't that bad. But then again that was something a normal person would do. There's nothing so romantic about it. I  tried wiping my thoughts off when we heard about our flight's arrival. "Let's go." We gathered our luggage and after all the customs we finally reached our plane. It took us 1 and a half days to reach Chicago.

Hotel room:

We placed our luggage inside this huge, cozy, and luxurious room. "I'm going to take a shower. You can order food in the meantime." He said and rushed inside the bathroom. I called the room service to send us lunch. I didn't want to eat too much since I decided to take a nap before taking a tour of this beautiful place. We had lunch, took a short nap, and went outside. I was so enthused by my surroundings. But someone was clearly not enjoying it. I looked at his emotionless eyes staring at a distance.  Oh Kyle, why are you so distant? I thought to myself. I knew he didn't love me. But still, a part of me wanted him so badly. I felt foolish but I couldn't resist it. "Hey, you ok?" I placed my hand on his shoulder. "Huh, what? Yeah. Can you please give me a moment alone?" He was stuttering. I felt my heartache but I couldn't say no to him. He was supposed to be spending his time with me. At least he could pretend that he cares. That was fine with me. But...

"Uh- ok." I shook my head.

"I'm sorry, I just need some time alone. I hope you don't mind. I'll be back in a few minutes. Stay here." He said and I nodded my head, holding the tears that were about to break free. "Thank you." He quickly walked away disappearing in the crowd. I sat there trying my best to focus on anything but Kyle but I failed. Just then I heard a voice. "Hello madam, are you alone?" His husky voice made me flinch. I looked up to see who that was. I felt like gapping. His beautiful features were perfectly sculptured on his face. His brown eyes were staring at me with concern. "Uh, no I'm with my husband." I looked at him with awe. "Oh, where is he? Why did he leave such a pretty woman like you alone in this crowded place?" He said softly. "Uh, no. He went to get something to eat." I was still mesmerized by his beauty. "Oh, by the way, I'm Vante." He bowed before flashing a boxy smile. "Hello, Mr. Vante. Well, why are you so concerned about me?" I asked him confused. "My lady, two men were staring at you for a long time. They were about to do something bad. I decided to prevent them from doing such a thing. That's why I asked you where your husband was." He smiled and I thanked him warmly. "No problem." He flashed his cute boxy smile before disappearing into the crowd. I wished I could talk to him more. I needed some company. I then saw Jin approaching me with hot dogs in his hands. I thanked him internally since my stomach had been growling for an hour. "Sorry, it took me long. I decided to bring you hot dogs." He handed me one and started eating his. I wonder where he had gone to. That certainly means, he had been here before. But when and how? I wanted to ask him but decided to hold it back. Maybe it wasn't the right time. Besides, it wasn't good to violate his privacy. I wanted to meet that Vante boy again. He seemed so playful and fun to talk with and also a gentleman. I wish I see him again.
