CHAPTER ONE

Mathew's POV

"I think you know why I called you" my dad said, as I entered his office.

"Yeah, I think I do" I said to him.

"Well, as you know, you're twenty-eight and as of now the most powerful and feared mafia leader and you still don't have a beautiful queen by your side" dad explained. I look at him perplexed if he was serious about having this conversation admist all the current issues we are having with the Italians.

"I want you to get married as soon as possible and to give me a heir, so you can continue our family's name" he continue to explain to me.

" You know it isn't like I don't want to get married yet but right now that the last thing on my mind" I told him in the most calm way.

" Boy, I am not getting younger. I need a grandchild" he said to me, he is kind of weak now. Being calm with him is kind of like the only way forward. He doesn't know about the threat to our territory. These are tough times for me and the gang and if he finds out it would probably be the end of him.

"Dad, I get what you mean but I can't get caught up with this now, can we talk later, please" I walked up to where he was sitting.

"No, I need a bride by the end of this week" He said and I was confused where did all these come from. This escalated real quick. "What, sorry it can't be possible. I am a busy man and I don't have time for this" I turned my back to him.

" I think I am ready to take my leave now" Sometimes I wonder how he was a leader. He is so carefree and it is so fucking annoying at times.

" Won't you do this for your old man even if it was his last wish?" He said to me as I walk out. Damn he is always pulling this trick on me. " Dad, I have a meeting now and I would prefer to take my leave now." I said to him and turn to leave the room.

" Son, please okay!" he moved towards me. He is acting like he is going to die in the next one week. "Okay, I will think about it" I said to him and left the room.

He can be overbearing at times. I always listen to my old man but this is the wrong time to bring this up but I will give it some thought later in the day. But for now I am fucking busy.

I was on my way to my office, when one of my men came up to me.

" What happened?" I asked him, at this point i am tired of everything that ia already going on.

" We got him" he said, with a stern voice.

"Got who?" I said. Dad has fucking scattered my organized brain. " Leon" He said to me. Yeah, the bastard has been keeping tabs on me and feeding the information to the Italians.

" Take me to him or wait later, I have a meeting now" I enter my office.

"Good morning sir," I heard as I entered. I might be young but damn I love the respect I am given. I do not reply and sit down wondering why they called for this meeting. The manager of my restaurant and his secretary. Although the restaurant is of like a covering for laundering.

" So can we be fast about this, I have somewhere else to be" I said to them.

The manager handed me a file. I flipped it open and the first thing the I saw was kind of discouraging.

" What happened here?" I asked as I flipped the page. " Sir, this has actually been taken care of the reason we came today is to ask for permission to take up more worker. We are short on labor" He said. This could literally be solved on phone. I hissed.

" You can get more workers, okay?" I said and stood up leaving them alone. I can't believe that was what the meeting was about. Now it is time to get real business done...........
