Chapter 1

Sir, how do you feel about being the CEO of your own Boxing agency?"

"How does being successful at such a young age feel?"

The lights of the camera flashed in his eyes as he was surrounded by his guards to Keep the reporters within their boundaries, but that didn't stop their questions.

When they finally got him to the car, He rolled the window down to answer that one particular question.

"I feel so fuckin proud!" The words rolled off his tongue fluently in his American accent before He signalled the driver to drive off.

It didn't take them long before they were nearing their next destination.

The driver got out of the car and opened the door for him. He pulled the Sigarrate out of his pocket with his Metal Lighter. He put it between his lips and lit it up, exhaling a long puff.

"Such a shitty day it is!" His eyes stopped at a figure running across the road, limping.

It was mercy..

His personal assistant for his new company as well as her Ex-girlfriend. If he talked about not being annoyed just by looking at her face, He would be lying.

She limped across the road between the cars until her eyes met Oliver's.

"Please h-help! Someone's following me!" She said, Breathing heavily, and her purse clutched tightly against her stomach. A smirk spread across Oliver's lips.

"And what will I get in return? My dear Mercy?"

Mercy, A 26-year-old woman In a Red skirt and White heels, sat in the waiting room, shaking her feet out of anxiety.

Her palms were sweating out of nervousness. She was here for the interview of the personal assistant of a Boxing champion as the CEO of his own Boxing agency.

His Name is Oliver Kristoff, Just an year older than her.

"Ms. Mercy Grande! It's your turn." The woman sitting on the computer passed a gentle smile to her and signalled her to the room.

She tried walking straight. She took a deep breath before opening the door.

She sighed in relief when there was no one in the room.

But her relief didn't last longer when She felt a presence behind her.

"Oh Darling, It's been a long time, hasn't it?" The words in her deep voice hit her ears.

It was somewhat familiar, She turned around and she realised It is Oliver, Her ex whom she broke up with 10 years ago as a teenager.

Oliver had Dark black hair with Light honey brown eyes, a sharp nose complementing his Sharp jawline, and a tattoo peeking out of his shirt on his neck.

He snapped his fingers. In front of Mercy's eyes, dragging her out of her thoughts,

The words were stuck in her throat, not knowing what to say.

"Get inside. Let's interview you while sitting down."

She sighed, as never in her darkest dreams had she thought she would even come across him.

But how wrong can meeting an ex go?

"I didn't have any idea that Oliver Kristoff was you, Mr. Oliver."

"Your CV looked quite impressive, Mercy!" He said Looking down into the file and flipping through pages with his slender fingers.

"Who do you live with, Mercy?" He asked, his eyes still not meeting the nervous Woman in front of him.

"I live alone, Sir!" Mercy said while he was trying to peek into the file to see what he was looking at.

"Not with your Parents?" Oliver said with a hint of sacrasm in his taunting voice.

"No sir!" Mercy replied, remembering the possible reason he asked that question.

Flashback:

10 years ago:

"I bought these for you!" 17 years old, the boy in uniform said and Handed his girlfriend the chocolate he bought when she asked him to meet him in the park.

Mercy bit her lower lip and Looked up into his eyes with her teary orbs.

"I think we should end this!" She said this in a trembling voice, and Oliver's smile faded.

"You're joking, right?" Oliver said, holding her shoulders.

No, I am not. We should end this." Mercy spoke with her eyes glued to the ground.

"End what??" Oliver raised his voice out of the panic that rushed through his veins.

Oliver let out a big sigh in an attempt to calm himself down.

"What happened? If something happens, you can tell me. We can find a way out of it!" Oliver got on his knees and grabbed her hands, making her look at him.

Tears streamed down her face.

"My parents don't like it. I can't go against them." Mercy said, and Oliver loosened his grip on her hands.

"Is it how you're going to end this? Is this how we wanted it to end? After Everything that happened between us?" Oliver asked in a shaky voice.

Mercy looked down and didn't reply as She stood up to leave.

More tears streamed down her face as the truth she hid was eating her up alive.

This was the end of their story. At least that was what they thought, but that was not what their Destiny wanted.

End of flashback.

Oliver cleared his throat, dragging her out of her thoughts.

"Do you think you can handle this job?" Oliver asked, closing the file and Looking right into her presence.

"Yes, Mr. Oliver, I am sure I am capable of handling it." Mercy said, The fingers she crossed under the table went unnoticed.

She practised so hard to get this job.

If she doesn't get this job, She is surely going to have to go homeless.

"Congratulations! You got this position!" Oliver said and Brought his hand forward,

Mercy's eyes shone with happiness and relief.

"Thankyou! Thank you so much, Mr. Oliver!" She said that and shook his hand.

She felt like a burden had gone off her shoulders.

"You should be happy; I haven't held any grudges." Oliver said it in a low voice, audible enough to make her smile disappear and Cause her body to shiver.

"Congratulations again!" Mercy stood up as Oliver slammed the door after leaving.

The thought of seeing him every single day put a heavy burden on her chest.

It scared her...

Her past and The future, where Destiny will drag her.
