A Day In My Life

The next morning I woke up with blurry vision and a headache, 'Thank God, I wasn't drinking last night,' I thought.

I yawned loudly and stretched my arms above my head, 'maybe I should just take today off.'

My feet sticking out from the covers. I looked around the bedroom and blinked a couple of times to get my eyes opened fully.

I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes again.

"Good morning, sunshine!" Nico greeted as he jumped onto the bed.

I turned to him with wide eyes, "what are you doing here? Aren't you going to work?" I asked him.

He nodded, "yes, but I didn't have the energy to wake up this early. So, I came here instead." He rubbed his cheek against mine, "how are you feeling?"

I felt his strong arms wrapped around my waist and I took a deep breath, "good."

"I know you're still hungover, but can we go and grab breakfast?" He asked.

"A life of an influencer, hah..." I whispered, "sure, we should! I'll wash my face."

I got out of bed and rushed into the bathroom.

I turned on the shower and stepped inside, letting the hot water run down my body.

I washed the makeup off my face and brushed my teeth, preparing myself for breakfast, "gosh, I shouldn't be lazy next time to remove my makeup before I fall asleep," I started rubbing it more vigorously, "ugh, I'm so stupid."

I stepped out of the shower and dried myself.

I ran my fingers through my wet hair and combed it out.

I took a black dress and some underwear out of my closet before I put them on.

I slipped on the dress and tied the belt around my waist before I slid on the bra.

I threw on the shoes and grabbed my jacket before I was ready to leave.

"Where are we going?" I asked him as I walked out of the bedroom.

"I just realized that I need to promote this place and I have a discount for it," Nico grinned his teeth.

Nico always took care of me in good and worse, he was my best friend when I needed him the most, he was always there for me.

Nico was living an extravagant life until his dad cut him off and he had no other choice but to move in with me. I didn't mind that at all, I liked his company and especially he was doing the chores when I was getting lazy or too tired to move.

Having a handsome face and being good with makeup, he became a social media star instantly. He had thousands of followers and many companies were willing to pay him a lot of money for sponsored content.

One thing he never had enough of though, was girls who wanted to date him.

He was very popular on Instagram and even though he had a girlfriend, he didn't mind taking pictures with random women. He got paid for that too.

Some of them were models, some were actresses, some were even porn stars, and he knew almost every single person in our city.

"Is it okay that I bring my camera?" Nico asked me.

"Oh yeah, sure," I shrugged, "you can take as many pictures as you want, it's your job."

"Thanks, girl!" He gave me a hug before I grabbed my bag and followed him outside.

The sun was already high in the sky and it was hot and humid.

We walked along the street, passing by several restaurants and shops.

"What are you thinking about?" Nico asked, looking at me.

"Nothing," I replied, "I'm just excited."

"Ah, you've been acting weird all day yesterday." He laughed.

"What do you mean?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Well, you were all tense and moody. You didn't want to talk to me yesterday afternoon and you kept asking yourself if you made a mistake by accepting the job." He shook his head, "and then you were texting with someone last night."

"No, I didn't!" I crossed my arms.

"Yeah, you did," Nico chuckled.

"So, now you're accusing me of something!" I covered my mouth, hiding my teeth when Nico said, "here! That's the place!"

He pointed at a small café on the corner of the street.

"Let's go, I'm starving!" He smiled at me.

We walked inside and I took a seat next to Nico.

"Hi, I'm here for breakfast!" I greeted the waitress.

She nodded and wrote down the order on her notepad.

"Here we go, two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast," she handed us the menus, "the coffee will be right there."

I nodded and read the menu, 'I usually eat this kind of food every week. I have no idea why I'm so nervous today.'

"Are you okay, baby?" Nico asked me, "you seem worried."

"Yeah, don't forget to take your pics because the rent is due in two days," I giggled.

We both liked to make fun of each other about money because we both had our 'broke peasant' moments in our lives where we were surviving on instant noodles only. For both of us to be eating out was a big luxury.

"Don't worry, I'll make it to the end of the month," Nico smiled.

"How much are you going to spend on that meal?" I raised an eyebrow at him.

"I have a discount card." He winked at me, "it's a gift."

I couldn't help but laugh at his smart answer.

He was always like that: he tricked people into giving him discounts and he would use those cards to buy expensive stuff without paying a dime, "a life of an influencer, huh?" I teased him.

"Hahaha, don't tell me you're jealous, girl!" He patted my hand.

"Of course not, I'm fine with being broke!"

"Good morning miss Glory," a cold tone greeted my ears.

This voice was familiar and I hated it.

"Hello, boss" I nodded as I gulped.
