CHAPTER 53: RELAXED

Mia was grateful to Ryan,he had assisted her a lot, something she didn't think anyone would do for her,not that she vee asked anyone. Her mum was getting the best treatments thanks to Ryan,she would expecting her mum soon.

Earlier she couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was watching her,she had prepared to leave when she had that feeling of being watched. Seeing Ryan made her feel better,she felt comfort and safety when with him as if she knew he would handle the problems she has which he has been doing.

The drive was smooth ,her mind relaxed along with her body and nerves. Ryan on the other hand, thought of what Mia had told him earlier,he was about surprised when she told him that but quickly assured her which worked and also made him relief,he didn't want anything affecting her health. It was something Ryan couldn't overlook,there could be someone trying to get her.

He was going to find out who could possibly be watching Mia and what that person wants,the person hasn't made any moves but he didn't want to neglect her safety. The drive was smooth and normal,Ryan's focus was on the road the entire time. They stopped in front of the company.

They both got out and went side by side to go in. Mia looked at Ryan with questions in her eyes,and Ryan could clearly see it. Mia had been expecting for him to drop her off at the mansion,him suddenly bring her here made a question pop in her head. For the time she had known him,Ryan would not let her do anything when it comes to her health,the last time she got sick,he did not let her do anything for three days and only allowed her due to her protest.

They walked inside passing by the staffs who greeted them as they passed. Most of the female staffs looked at her with envy while some looked at her and smiled at her with sincerity and admiration. Choosing to ignore those envy looks,Mia walked along side Ryan into the elevator as it went straight to the top floor. Mia didn't ask Ryan any questions when they got to the top floor.

The office door then open with one push from Ryan,Mia closed the door behind her as Ryan took off his suit jacket and placed it on his arm. He didn't say anything but just looked at her for some time before seat down behind his desk.

Without being told Mia went to siy on the couch,she knew what Ryan expected of her with closed eyes,she sighed. He still hadn't told her what to do,she could feel his eyes on her watching intensely

"rest,you've had a long a day*he says to see Mia snapped her head up at him , possibly to ask if she could do something,but Ryan bluntly refused telling her the only thing that needed to be done was for her rest. Mia felt slightly tired, so reluctantly agreed and laid comfortably on the couch before sleep consumed her.

By the time Mia had woken up, she felt relaxed having sleep with no disturbance. A blanket was placed right above her knowing that Ryan would be the. one to have put it on her. Pushing the blanket aside,she noticed her exposed legs with fave filled with shock , presuming Ryan must have see her legs when her short gown shifted to her thighs.

Speaking of Ryan,he was no where to be seen around the vast room. Mia looked around again to confirm while still sitting on the couch. She stood up to stretch her body while she yawned

Turning around to work towards the door and taking I. the password,Mia peeped inside to find the place empty,she invited herself in. She had seen Ryan use the password before.

The place was also empty and there was no sign of Ryan. She came out again only go look at the glass window that reflected outside and she could see that it was almost dark. She knew Ryan must be busy since his phone was switched off so she went back to the room. Her eyes moved to the game console that was arranged neatly,Ryan had gotten the latest play station and Mia couldn't hold back her urge to play the game.

Putting it in place as she started the game while confirming that she closed the door firmly. "it's only going to be one. .no three levels and I'm done"she thought as she started the game getting cracked up already.

Fourty five minutes passed when she realized that she had played more than just three levels,at the moment she was playing a very difficult level when she lost , with a sigh she noticed that Ryan hadn't come pack. Putting the play station back in place ,Mia exited the room at the same time ,the door to the office opened and she saw a figure come in. Ryan noticed her standing at the entrance of the other door and raised a brow.

Mia felt like she had been caught doing something wrong

"I...I just came to check y..you in there since I ...uh couldn't find you"Mia explained the way little child would. Ryan could clearly see that she had been awake for minutes now and I might have just gone in there to play games.

"where did you go?"Mia asked trying to change the topic while going away from the door as she walked closer to where Ryan was. She didn't know why,but she had calmly sat in there playing video game and at the same time forgetting about Ryan. At the moment she just wanted to scold herself out loud but didn't as it would be embarrassing.

"I had a meeting"Ryan replied putting down files in the right order,Mia have him hand with it which he didn't refuse at all but just smiled at her.

On the way out of the company,Mia noticed that savannah was no where,did she take a day off? or just had urgent matters. In any way it didn't concern Mia,she focused on the road as Ryan drive passed cars and buildings. The sky had already been consumer by darkness. On the way ,Mia noticed a berbecue shop and she could almost smell the aroma from the car. Her mouth water and she wanted to eat it.

She turned to Ryan who from the side if his eyes noticed her behavior.

"can we stop for a berbecue?"her soft voice said. Ryan agreed without a y questions and they both stopped a few steps away from the shop as they both walked the rest of the way.

They entered into the shop and we're greeted by the sweet smell and customers,the place was big enough for a lot of people. Some of the customers gave them looks while whispering to each other most especially the females.

A young looking lady came to approach them,with an apron wrapped around her waist and her blond hair packed to a bun making the hairnet stable on her head. Her eyes went to observe Ryan before asking if they needed anything

"two berbecue please"Mia said with a bright smile. The lady was about to reply when a voice called

"Rachel"the girl turned around and a middle aged woman came approaching her . Mia could see the confusion in the girls eyes

"what are you still doing here? stop roaming around and get something to do also why are the customers standing! you didn't give them a place to sit" the woman scolded

"mum I was..."Rachel started

"go back there and get to work"the woman ordered not giving her a chance to talk and Rachel went away carrying a frown on her face.

The woman maintained her composure as she placed her focus on the couple before excusing herself and apologising for the drama that took place earlier. She lead them to the table for both of them to sit before giving them their order. Mia was the first one to take bite then Ryan who was impressed by the meat.

Mia was about to pay for it when Ryan gave the woman a black card,she gaped at it before withdrawing their payments . Mia looked at him with question and Ryan just shrugged taking her hand and leading her outside
