PREDICAMENT OF JOY

After Ash finished talking with Jason he looked at Serena who was waiting for him. Serena was looking ash like she was suspicious of him. It was like she wanted to ask him something and Ash knew what she wanted to ask so he avoided making the eye-contact with her.

"You know I can tell when someone is hiding something from me."

"What? What are you talking about?" Ash played ignorantly.

"You calling me an Angle and praising so suddenly, I feel like something is wrong."

"Oh! Come on, Can't I even praise my employee?" Ash asked in a questioning tone and passed the blame on Serena.

"Huh! Of course, you can." Serena felt a little guilty. She thought that Ash was genuinely praising her and she was questioning him out of nowhere so she said, "I am sorry for suspecting you."

"No need to apologize since you're right this time." Serena couldn't comprehend what she heard just so said waiting for Ash and Ash continued, "Actually, I have already spent all 13 million on the movie now I want more funds for editing and promotion."

"What? What did you say?" Serena couldn't believe it.

"I said that I want more funds."

"Ash, You do know how much you are betting on this movie," Serena said looking worried, "These are your funds but if you invest any more in this movie and it failed you might not be able to rise again. I am not trying to stop you but I want you to be more cautious. You are a talented man no doubt about it but before taking risks stabilizing your position is more important."

"Serena, sometimes you have to run before you learn how to walk. don't worry about the future funds I have shorted it out."

Ash said that assuring Serena but then Liam came to Ash and offered him wine.

"No thanks, I don't drink wine."

"Hey, Who are you fooling. Do you think I didn't notice you sneaking around with those wine bottles at night to drink alone? Sometimes you should drink with your friends too."

"Actually, I blackout after I drink wine."

"Well, that's a new one, but you have to drink with us no matter what."

That night Liam forced Ash to drink with him. And after drinking for a while he blacked out.

Joy Pascal was a popular singer. She was beautiful and talented. Her songs were hit and she was the desire and envy of many people. To the outside world, she had everything she wanted but the reality was different.

She had a contract with a music company. Even though the company was very big but she wasn't getting her desired resources. After signing with the company her career had a smooth selling but after a while it became stagnant.

It was because her songs were popular with a particular group of people so her songs were selling well with them and the company was making a good profit from this. That's why the company was just providing her with the same kind of songs. Soon she was bound by a particular image and couldn't break it. She was stuck at this stage.

She had hit a bottleneck and she wanted to make a song which will provide her with a breakthrough. But under the company's constant pressure she couldn't find a song suited for her.

Today she came to the company to see some lyrics the company provided for her. Her manager handed her the lyrics but she took a look at those lyrics she couldn't help but sigh, she said, "It's the same old same."

Her manager knew that Joy didn't want to sing these kinds of songs anymore and try something new so she said, "Joy, I don't understand what's the problem? If you sing these songs they will sell a good that's for sure. It is a tried and tested strategy. If you do something new and fail then you will hit a rock bottom from where you might never recover."

"It's because I don't want to be a mediocre my whole life. I want to see the top at least once in my life but if I am stuck here I will never be able to do that. I would rather face ups and downs than continue living this boring life."

"Everyone wants some kind of stability in their lives but you have to be so different from everyone else," The manager said to her, "Okay, as your manager, I will go now and talk to the higher-ups and try to get what you want. I will try my best but please don't get your hope up too much."

Her manager left after saying that leaving her alone. Joy didn't expect a positive answer anyway. She was just hoping that someone would come and give her a good lyrics but just then she thought about Ash. She took out his card and saw his name and phone no. written on it. She didn't have any expectations from Ash. She was feeling a little low and just wanted to talk to someone and remembering how much of a sweet talker Ash was, she dialed his no. and Ash answered the call.

-Hello?

"Hello, Mr. Wilson, have you written lyrics for me yet?"

-Oh! You called? Of course, I have written them, I can send them to you right away.

"You really wrote?" Serena was surprised to hear his answer.

-Of course, I wrote. What did you think of me? A liar?"

"Not a liar, but a flirt, yes."

-A flirt? I never even flirted with you. How am I a flirt? Everything I say is serious business."

Joy was surprised again and said, "Then you might be a natural-born flirt."

-Hey, I thought you called for lyrics?

"I want to take a look at the lyrics first."

-I will send them to you right away

After that Ash cut the call and soon he sent the lyrics to Joy.
