18 There's Something Fishy Going On
"Ms. Shen, Director Wang Shu seeks for your presence." Mr Khan informed her with a big smile plastered on his face.
Anna was nervous but she didn't know why. It was important for the Board of directors to meet with their new employees.
Anna agreed to meet Director Wang Shu, Mr Khan accompanied her. When they got to the office, Anna stood still by the close door. She was hesitating whether to open it or not.
"Why are you so nervous, Ms. Shen? Mr Khan raised his brow with a questioning look.
"Nothing much. Let's proceed." She pushed the door open and went inside alongside with Mr Khan.
All eyes were on her. Director Wang Shu was sitting on his swivel chair with Mu Chen by his left side.
"Sir, here's Ms. Shen." Mr Khan presented Anna to both Director Wang Shu and Mu Chen.
"Leave her to us. You may go." Director Wang Shu instructed and Mr. Khan complied.
"Good day to you both." Anna greeted faking a smile. She was anxious and nervous at the same time. It's her first time meeting the Board of directors and fortunately for her, she met just two of them.
"Ms. Shen, we've gone through your application form and I must say. I'm impressed." Director Wang Shu said clapping his hands.
"Thank you sir." Anna smiled genuinely this time.
" How many years of experience do you have because it was not listed in your form?" Mu Chen was the one to ask.
Why was this man blowing her cover? She has never worked as a secretary before and this man wants to blow it all out. God damnit. Anna cursed inwardly.
" Hum... sir...sir" She shutters. "I've never worked as a secretary before." Anna said while her hands were shaking by her side.
"Oh is that so, why did you apply as a secretary if you've not experienced how the job is?" Mu Chen fired. He was giving her a hard time.
"I know what it takes to be a good secretary sir, if you give me a chance I'll prove it to you." Anna assured them confidently.
"We need serious worker for the job, a person who knows the job well to it's fullest. The Head of the organization won't be pleased if he finds out you don't have an working experience." Director Wang Shu spoke calmly to her.
"I won't let you down sir." Anna bowed her head.
Mu Chen continued starring at her, he gaze was intense. He didn't blink an eye. Anna felt so uncomfortable and wished for the ground to open and swallow her.
Mu Chen didn't say anything till her dismissal.
"There's something off about that lady." Mu Chen said almost in a whisper.
" What do you mean by that?" Director Wang Shu knitted his brow. He couldn't figure out what was in Mu Chen's mind. The man was so mysterious.
" Do you know the name of the lady, Master Wang Shu?" Mu Chen asked with a serious tone.
"Ms. Shen?!" Director Wang Shu responded. "Mu Chen what are you driving at? Stop beating around the bush and hit the nail on its head."
"Let me take a look at her file." Mu Chen said curiously.
" Her file has been submitted to Alexander. What is the matter Chen?" Director Wang Shu angrily said.
Mu Chen ignored Master Wang Shu and went to the cupboard where the employee's documents are kept. He miraculously found Anna's application form.
Her name reminded him of someone. His gaze met with her passport that was on the right side of the form. Now that his doubts where clear he took the form and showed it to Director Wang Shu.
"Take a look at this photo." He gave Master Wang Shu Anna's passport.
"Her name is Anna Shen." Mu Chen continued.
" It can't be!" Master Wang Shu eyes pooped out from it's socket with shock. He continued looking at the photo without blinking an eye.
" The photo looked exactly like the one on Alexander's table." He finally said.
" Could she be....?" His words where cut of by Mu Chen.
" Let's not jump into conclusion, we need to get to the bottom of it." Mu Chen exhaled. Master Wang Shu kept on staring severally at the passport.
"Alexander needs to know about this." Master Wang Shu suggested not breaking his gaze from the photo.
"Not yet, we need to undergo a proper check on her back ground. There's something fishy going on." Mu Chen crossed his arms at his back.
Master Wang Shu just let out a sigh. Although they haven't met with the previous Anna but Alexander has showed them some of her photos.

"So how did it go?" Mr Khan was the first to ask after seeing Anna's anxious face. She use her hand to support her jaw.
"It went well though." Anna tried to fake a smile.
"I can see the worried look on your face." Mr. Khan then sat opposite her.
"I might not get to work here for long because I do t have an working experience." Her frown deepened.
Mr. Khan chuckled on seeing the frown on her face. "Do you know you look so cute when you frown." He smiled pinching her checks gently.
Her cheeks flushed red but it's not the right time to do that. "Stop it with the teasing Mr. Khan, I about to loose the job I just started." Anna said worriedly.
"Ms. Shen, no negative thoughts. Although the AL Holdings employee's undergo some strict but trust me you won't loose your job that easily. Just be committed to it." Mr. Khan advised.
"Thanks Mr. Khan." Anna gave him a smile. That smile he loved seeing.
"You ate lunch with Ms. Yang Zhen right?"
Anna remembered the woman who keeps daydreaming of becoming President Li's woman.
" Of course."
" She must have told you her aim of becoming President Li's woman." Mr. Khan chuckled.
" Certainly, it's impossible right?" Anna asked.
" It might be. President Li is a no nonsense man." Mr Khan said. Anna was about to protest but Mr. Khan's ringing phone interrupted her. He stood up from his seat to answer the phone. As soon as he hung up he gave Anna a knowing look.
"I have to go Ms. Shen. Duty call." He winked and left Anna smiling to herself.
She seemed to be happy with Mr. Khan. He's so carefree. This got other employees talking.
"She's just a newbie here and she's flirting with Mr. Khan."
"I know Mr. Khan will never fall for her."
" She not even ladylike."
Anna tried not to get pissed by their words, she left her office to get some air outside. While she'll wait for the closing hour.
