Fighting with a Pidgey

As the sun layed its morning rays to the forest, Clyde was already..... dead. Not that kind of dead, just dead asleep. While the break of dawn arrived, and the sun rose high up into the sky, he was still sleeping.

Maybe due to tiredness, or maybe due to the change of environment, Clyde felt sleepy than ever. As Clyde would like to continue his sleep, a yellow-colored shadow raced from a branch of the tree, to Clyde's current sleeping branch. Due to his excitement, Caterpie rushed straight towards Clyde and tackled him awake.

Well, for Clyde, that was a tackle, since he fell right through the branches and ended up in the ground. Thanks for his instinct, he did not feel that impact and barely saved himself from the fall by levitating.

Caterpie forgot that only he has suctions on their feet, in order for them to climb and stick to any surfaces. He was so shocked that he thought that Clyde was hurt. With almost tears in his eyes, Caterpie looked down and saw a levitating Pokèmon.

After that morning affair, Clyde and Caterpie went back to training. Clyde did not climb back up again since he would like to eat breakfast, and the food is at the trunk of the tree. Caterpie followed Clyde, then both of them had their morning meal.

Right now, Clyde remembered that an Infant Pokèmon really has to take their sleep, since this phase is considered as a pre-growth phase, Pokèmons at this level mostly take their time by sleeping and resting. However, Clyde being a researcher, he knows that this is the best time to familiarise a Pokèmon with its affinity with his own energy. To do that, it must practice its own manipulation of energy. By doing this, it paves the way for the body's growth and would help it to have faster and easier training in the future.

Now, Clyde could manipulate Caterpie's strings into even curves and a perfect S-pattern. As he already did what he aimed to do, he set a new goal for himself. It's manipulating the strings into all letters in the alphabet. Also, he considered doing numbers, starting from 0 to 9.

Caterpie was also doing well. Besides giving 1 strand of string for Clyde to manipulate, Caterpie practices on his own accuracy. Clyde instructed Caterpie to shoot down leaves on branch of the tree, since the leaves here are not clustered, but evenly spread out. He also improves the thickness of his string by eating what Clyde told him to eat, the Apicot berries. Requesting from his mom, Butterfree readily agreed, since she could see that her own son is the most talented Caterpie that she ever saw in her own life. In the future, her son would likely continue to flourish her tribe, being the future ruler.

The sun set at it's highest point, and by now, it was already noon. The sun lit up the forest making it look more alive and mysterious. Fog spread from the summit of the mountains, covering it's glorious peak. Clyde located somewhere east of the forest, was currently walking around the periphery of Butterfrees' territory. They went out right after eating lunch when they finished their training.

Clyde saw different Pokèmons while walking around with Caterpie. In a forest, the most common Pokèmons you could find are Bug, Grass and Flying-type Pokèmons. But, there are also some that are rarely found which are Normal-type and other element based Pokèmons. These, however, are rarely seen. Like now, Clyde saw Oddish, Bellsprout, Weedle, Paras, Venonat and even both Pidgey and Spearow, who were hostile to their tribe.

Due to his mom being home, Caterpie was not afraid of anything. Just a call for help, Butterfrees would be able to rush over here. Since this is the territory of Butterfrees, other Pokèmons were careful to attack Caterpie, but that was not the case for Clyde. Caterpie wanted to intervene, but Clyde did not let him so.

When Pokèmons attacked him, Clyde only did three things, which are: Disarming voice, Confusion and Flying them away. He did those three things like they were in a combo. Disarming voice is a Fairy-type sound based attack. It damages the foe through sound waves and makes their emotions fluctuate. Confusion is a Psychic-type attack, which is a weak telekinetic attack that may confuse the opponent. Both attack mostly never miss, only in special scenarios do they not hit their target.

Starting with Disarming voice, Clyde let them be attacked by sound waves and their emotions in turmoil. Followed by Confusion, which attacks the mind. This attack now, has a higher chance to confuse the target since their emotions are not stable, which makes them more susceptible to mind status conditions. Now, if they're confused, Clyde finishes them off by flinging them away from him by the use of psychic energy. If not, Clyde pushes them to the ground then Caterpie finishes them by shooting a string shot.

The Pokèmons encountered by Clyde and Caterpie were very pitiful, due to the combination that Clyde carefully thought of, they were attacked both emotionally and mentally. If not confused, they were even more pitiful, being tied up by strings of Caterpie, which has slightly improved in elasticity.

Of course, being an infant, Clyde could only attack for a certain time before he gets tired, which is also the same for Caterpie. Both of them treats this as practice so that their body would be more familiar in accommodating and manipulating energy into attacks.

After an hour of battle, both Caterpie and Clyde were exhausted. However, Clyde was very happy since he leveled up from 7 to 9, and Caterpie leveled up from 3 to 6. He was certainly happy with todays gains, since Clyde would like to be level 21 before the week ends. He took a note in his mind that they must do this more often. It did not put much pressure from Clyde, since the levels of the Pokèmon around here are from level 3 to 5. Rare cases there are level 6 to 7, in which Clyde and Caterpie runs before they took notice. Their talents were also poor, mostly 1 star but some of them had 2 stars.

An hour passed with them wandering around and an hour of them battling, It took also took them an hour to return home.

Right after their return, both Clyde and Caterpie slept for a while. Waking up, it was already at dusk, which colored the sky with a shade of blue, red, violet, and orange. They again practiced for a while. In his practice, Clyde also included the newly learned skill 'Hypnosis' where in he got right after leveling up to 9.

It's a strange thing, really; acquiring skills as a Pokèmon. It's like a hidden memory resurfaced, or more like recollecting a memory that is something you don't know you actually had. It felt really strange, and Clyde felt very curious on how do they really happen.

After training, the sun has finally set, and the Butterfrees started preparing for supper. Caterpies falling in line, feeding the Metapods and eating food themselves, the Butterfrees were really busy everyday. Clyde always felt awe towards this community. Such organized and practiced routine and how they help each other is just simply amazing.

Right after dinner, repeating his routine, Caterpie climbing up and helping Clyde go up with a string shot. After Clyde said goodnight to Morpheus, they both succumbed to sleep.

As the sun set sails for another day, both Clyde and Caterpie repeated their routine today. Breakfast, then training, right after is lunch, followed by battlling while walking around. However, something changed in their routine right before they went home. They met a Pidgey, a strong one at that. They tried to run but it prevented them from running. Thinking if they could beat it, Clyde asked Morpheus to scan it.

"Morpheus, scan Pidgey."

"Initiating branch... Data displayed."

'It's really strong, compared to other Pidgeys that I've met.' Clyde thought.

They were supposed to go home now, but they met this Pidgey halfway back. Clyde talked a bit for Caterpie while Pidgey was staring at them like a hawk. They both concluded that they would try to defeat this Pidgey. Preparing to attack, they both made their battle stances. Pidgey seeing this, also made his stance.

They were in a deadlock for around a minute, in which Clyde broke it by shouting.

"Wuuuu~!" (Attack!)

"Whoosh! Whoosh"

Right after commencing attack, Caterpie shot two simultaneous string shots towards Pidgey. Clyde also attacked by using Disarming voice.

"Wuuuuuu~"

Of course, Pidgey dodged both string shots of Caterpie, but was not able to dodge Clyde's Disarming voice.

"Purrr~!!!"

Pidgey screeched in pain. Clyde followed Disarming voice with Confusion.

"Purr~!!! Purrrrr~!!!"

Pidgey shouted due to the simultaneous attacks. However, now Pidgey was afflicted by the status condition, Confused. Taking advantage of Pidgey's plight, Caterpie again tried using String shot.

"Whoosh~"

This time, Caterpie successfully hit Pidgey with the String shot. To make it more effective, Clyde curved the string so that it would entangle Pidgey.

"Fwack~!"

Pidgey fell right into the ground, after he got tangled by the strings. It was sticky and suffocating, which made Pidgey enraged. By using his beak, Pidgey finally got free and flew back into the air. With reddened eyes, Pidgey stared at the both of them. Clyde felt a threat in the air and immediately shouted to Caterpie.

"Wuuu~!" (Careful!)

But he was too late, Pidgey suddenly targeted Caterpie with a Quick attack.

"Fwoosh~"

Clyde tried to use Disarming voice to distract Pidgey but Pidgey was a lot faster than him. Caterpie tried to evade but Pidgey was far more quicker than he was. Before hitting Caterpie, Pidgey heard a growl from Clyde which startled him and made him miss Caterpie's belly. However, he still hit Caterpie in his head.

"Cowieee~!!!!"
