Left Behind

In the end Nana won the argument and Mildred despite her misgivings continued to look after Maxixe to the best of her ability. 

"Is it just me or doesn't he seem prettier with each passing day? He's been out cold for two days now but his skin looks even healthier than mine. It's like he's not even human," exclaimed Mildred.

"Human or not it's a wonder he's still breathing when his skull has been cracked," said Nana while staring at the man again.

Nana just had a feeling that if they continued to look after the young man once he regained consciousness he would be very thankful and reward them for their efforts. 

Mildred lost track of the days that she had been caring for Maxixe.

Even though he showed signs of improvement she still grumbled under her breath because it was still hard work.

Mildred had begun to develop feelings for the unconscious man.
