Just listen

As usual Maxixe was much quicker than her and he grabbed her by the shoulders and pulled her closer to him in a comforting gesture. 

She tried to shake him off but of course he wouldn't let her go, they continued like this for another five minutes before she gave up.

Kaoma lost the will to fight and just relaxed against him, it felt like he held even tighter now.

"Just listen Kaoma," he demanded as he made sure she was snuggled so tightly to his chest she couldn't even nod her head if she chose. 

She waited and waited and still he said nothing but to Maxixe it was the sound of her breathing.

The sound of her confessing that life without him was miserable and that made his day. 

He didn't even think Kaoma realized what she so freely admitted, which was that she was becoming more reliant on him.

No longer would he have to fight her tooth and nail over everything, she was finally his completely.
