When she sat down next to me electricity shot through the room. For the first time in my long second life it felt like my heart could start beating again.

"Alice," Mr. Varner called. He noticed I wasn't paying attention and thought that for once; he could catch a Cullen off guard. I looked ahead for the correct answer.

He had asked what makes a florescent highlighter so bright. Easy, he should know by now how smart my family was. I looked his way and answered, "they are made completely of florence."

I looked back over at Bella. She was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. Even though I had seen plenty of people, both human and vampire, over the years none could compare to her beauty. Not even Rosalie my blonde super model like sister had even one-tenth of her beauty.

The electric feeling never dimmed during the hour and I caught my self trying to touch her hand but had to stop myself every time. She surely could never truly get to know me not only for her sake but for the sake of my family as well.

Yet at every moment I longed to know her, to be someone who she could confide her secrets in. Strangely I also wanted her to know me. I was interrupted from my thoughts when the bell rang.

"Bella," I calmly tried to speak to her.

"Yes?" she asked. Her voice was as attractive as a vampire's.

"What's your next class?" I asked hoping I could walk with her.

"Cooking," she replied, confused.

Yes! I thought this was my chance. "Do you need help finding it?" I asked before adding "because that's my next class too."

"Yes actually that would help me out a lot," a brilliant smile crossed her face.

I remembered just then that I hadn't given her my name yet. "How rude of me I haven't even introduced myself properly. I'm Alice. Alice Cullen."
