Edwina could not believe what she was hearing. Thorin and she looked at each other with shock. They both ran away before the engagement ceremony. She had no idea that Aaron would do something like that. How could he break Lorelei's heart? And that too in front of so many people?
"What are you talking about?" asked Edwina.
"You ran away and after he saw you, he could not go through his engagement," explained Bardolph, biting in his burger.
"So, that was the commotion was about," said Thorin.
"Yes, everyone was stunned after Aaron announced that he wouldn't take Lorelei as the chosen mate. He broke the engagement," said Valenthia. "That was the news I wanted to tell you, but you didn't want to hear about Aaron."
"But why would he do that?" asked Edwina.
"I told you, he saw you and he changed his mind," said Bardolph.
"As if you read his mind," snapped Edwina.
