But, for now, Kaori did the only thing she felt she could. She stood back up.

Her body felt heavier. Her tired muscles were so sore that just standing up made Kaori want to moan out of pain.

Could be worse, she told herself, as she stared her opponent down. At least I still have limbs to complain about. Mizaki's present condition came to mind, as Kaori fought this beast of a demon just a few steps away from the other Savior.

At that moment, Kaori picked up her swordstaff. With shaking hands, Kaori put her weapon in front of her to continue the fight.

The Nightmare seemed more than willing as it raised its greatsword up and went to crash it down on Kaori's head. At that moment, however, something interfered. A Fire spell reached the enemy, blasting its torso from the side.

The Nightmare froze.
