As Kaori moved forward to repel the demons, with the help of Amber's soldiers firing off spells behind her, the enemies began retreating.

Around half of the obstacles that the city's guards had spent time putting up had been broken down or, in the case of the rune traps, activated. Once the demons fully left and retreated back to their portal, Kaori moved up to assess the damage.

A guard walked beside her.

"Well... That's about a whole day's work that they just took out," he said, sadly.

"... It cost them some lives," Kaori replied as she looked up and acknowledged the demonic bodies littering the street. "There's a good chance most of these demons were low-level, though."

"Savior, what should we do?" Another guard asked as he approached. "Should we replace them?"

Kaori thought about it for a moment.
