Chapter 2: First school day- first trouble

Beep, beep, beep. Beep, beep, beep. It's the day. The first day of grade 12. Do I even want to graduate this year? What's the point of school, if I will learn the same staff all over again in university? Damn it. I went to the washroom to make myself look like human. First impression, it's important. Since people know each other very well, I want to be on the good side. I can easily defend myself but I hope that won't be necessary. I usually don't wear any accessories , but I received one necklace from one of my old doctor. She told me it's a special necklace and shit. Like it protects from negative energy.          

Today is a great day to try it out. It actually looks really pretty. It has this light blue-greenish rock in the shape of oval.

      I went back to my room to dress up. I wanted to show my power, and took some black jeans , red top and a leather jacket. "That looks stupid." I whispered to myself and right away began to brush my hair with my wooden brush. Makeup is casual. I only use mascara to add some volume.

"Sarah, the breakfasts ready!" My mom yelled from the kitchen. But I wasn't hungry at all. I was fed with fear of what's coming. School is scary. Not because of new area or subjects, but because of people.

       I faked my emotions in front of my mom and showed that I'm ready to go. We had breakfast together and then she drove me to school. All of a sudden I said " I want a bike".

"A what?" My mom said like she didn't hear what I said the first time. She wanted to reassure what that I said this to her out loud. " I want a bike, to be free like a bird" I said. She laughed because of the metaphor I used. Free like a bird. Is that even possible now days? What is free? How does it feels like to be free?

"Firstly - bikes are dangerous. Secondly, you know they are expensive." She said seriously this time. "That's why I'm planning on applying today to the coffee shop by our house"

" Cherries Place?"

"Yes mom"

"Are you sure you will be able to balance both school and work?"

"That will motivate me to go to school in the first place" I said. Maybe school is not going to be that bad. I'm just overreacting. Plus, I already know that dude from the forest. Shit what was his name...he never said his name!

"Here's your school!"

Oh no. Okay you got this. Just open the door and enter this school.

"Hold up mom" I opened my backpack and took the schedule out.

"Okay now I'm ready"

Mom leaned forward and gave me a good luck hug.

"Everything will be alright you have nothing to worry about. Right after school I want to see you home. Don't forget that even a small town might be dangerous"

"I know" I gave her a weak smile.

Now it's my time to show them who I am. I opened the door and stepped outside. I heard how my moms car drove away. All of a sudden, I felt how people were starting at me. That's not surprising, people know each other, and I'm the new kid. I went straight towards the entrance door.

       As soon as I entered the school my ears were filled with voices. I went to my assigned locker. "Omg where is it" locker number 182. It took me two solid minute to find it. They were dark blue, and old, super old. Did anyone ever hid a body inside this locker? Shit, wrong thoughts again.

       I filled my locker with textbooks and freed myself from my heavy backpack. I went straight to my firsts class, biology. As soon as I entered the class, some idiot started shouting

" Hey new girl, I can see into the future! I can predict what you will do or say in the future" he said with his back up dump cheerleader boys.

"Wow really that's amazing" I said with the most un emotional face I could ever pull of.

"You...you" he pretended like he is getting possessed by someone "here, you will be calling my name...Nick..Ohhh Nick!" He pretended to moan while saying his name out loud .

"I'm scared that people like you are allowed to vote." The class went quite. You could hear few people laughed and some were surprised. That's good. I didn't fail with the answer. So he's Nick huh. A school clown that nobody probably likes. His face became like a rock. His joke was so pathetic.

I felt like someone pulled my arm and in a sec I was sitting by the girl with brown hair and blue eyes. "Good job girl, that was amazing." She whispered to me while smiling. " I'm Suzie, was born here." She was so pretty. Really pretty. Her style was similar to mine. She doesn't dress super girly, and prefers dark colours.

" I'm Sarah from Chicago , moved here yesterday, trying to like this city." Here it is. My first school friend. Wasn't that bad.

"Welcome to our city- Silverer!" She said it with the British accent. Haha.

      The class was boring. We sat down and wrote some notes until the teacher began saying something.

"Just to remind you, you can't go outside after 9 pm, with time, it will go down to 8 or even 7 pm due to the circumstances. Thank you and now you may go to your second class after the bell rings". The whole class started to shout. "What's going on in this city! Any victims! Who's the killer!". I turned to Suzie and asked

"Can you enlighten me on what's happening?" This time, Suzie looked worried and even scared.

" We all want to know Sarah, that why it's even scarier." She looked down and got lost in her own thoughts. The rest of the school day went normal. Me and Suzie were suppose to meet up after school and we did. As I started approaching her I saw two other kids with her. I needed to cross the parking lot to get to them. It was filled with different cars.

       I was about to go to Suzie and her friends,but then I saw a bike "holy shit" it looked amazing. I was amazed with the beauty.

"You like it?" Someone sais behind my back. I quickly turned around to see some guy with a leather jacket tattooed on his arm. That looks hot. His eyes were green and hair was brown.

"Oh sorry, didn't mean any harm, just really like your bike." That was true, I'm obsessed with bikes. "That's weird to hear it from a girl. Your new here, right?" Too hot. Shit stop stop stop.

"Just because I'm a girl doesn't meant I can't like bikes. Yeah I'm new - Sarah" I looked up to see his face. He slightly smiled, with a cat smile.

" What a beautiful name. I'm Jason." He held his hand towards me and waited for me to shake it. I did.

"Well I'll see you around, someone is waiting for me."

"Sure, let's meet up sometime and I'll let you ride on this beauty" he looked towards his bike. I'll happily ride on him...SHIT stop thinking about that.

"That would be great!" I smiled. Then I ran off to Suzie and saw a familiar face beside her. That was that dude from the forest.

" Hello to you again" I said with a surprised face. "Hi! Sarah right? I'm Leo, sorry we forgot to introduce ourselves last time" he laughed awkwardly, but at the same time he was pissed.

"Not big deal" I said "you look...angry. Is everything okay?"

"That's him showing his love towards Jason" said the other dude. " I'm Cas," he shakes my hand enthusiastically and laughed.

"I see Leo doesn't like Jason" I said

"I have my reasons" said Leo.

"We all do" Suzie instinctively agreed with him.

They both looked really annoyed by him. I wonder why. For the rest of the evening we talked about life in general.

"So, what do you usually do after school?" I asked all of them.

"Well..." Suzie and Leo both looked at each other and nervously laughed. CAs didn't hesitate and answered for himself.

"I usually try to keep myself busy by studying extra. I want to leave this city after I graduate, to go search for bigger dreams."

"Oh that sounds nice! I probably will leave this city to after I graduate." I said with no emotions.

"Have you met anyone else today at school?" Suzie asked me.

"Well, only you guys, and Jason, the dude from parking lot."

"Please be careful with him" Leo lightly touched the top of my hand to show his comfort.

"I don't understand, why? Is he dangerous or what?" I was really confused, why should I trust that statement is they don't give me any solid proves.

" Sarah...just trust us, you won't regret listening to us." Suzie seriously and softly sad that to me.

"Sure, I'll be careful" that doesn't mean I won't talk to him.

"Okay guys this parking lot is empty, it's time to go home." Said Suzie, and I agreed with her. I still need to get rest. We said good bye to each other and went different ways. I went through the forest. "So beautiful " green trees, flowers. The smell of fresh air filled my lungs up.

I walked down the rail until I realized that I forgot to take my medication today. "I forgot it in my bedroom" Now I will have to explain my mom why the medication was in my room, and not with me. My thoughts were broken by some weird growl.

"Who's there!?" I said as loud as I could. What was that? A wild animal? Or just my mind. Maybe that's why I should take my medication. I speeded up. And all of a sudden I was knocked down to the ground. Something sharp bit my leg. The pain shocked my whole body and I screamed. It drugged me towards the heart of the forest and I realized that I need to do something.

      That creature was build weird. Maybe that's a wolf? But why would it attack me alone without his tribe? I threw every at that creatures he was fast. My head bumped everything on its way. I felt some weird feeling inside my body. I felt like this might be my last minute to be alive. This scary feeling builder up my body. I had a feeling that there was a need to release everything that I had in my body. I screamed so hard and  everything around me turned white. I opened my eyes and saw that that creator flew two or three meters away from me. My leg was bleeding non stop.

      I need to run but the pain was so phenomenal, I couldn't lift myself up. The creature got mad and ran towards me. Instinctively I raised my hand and closed my eyes. I didn't want to see my death with my own eyes. But then something weird happened. I opened my eyes and saw that creature in the air. " I have hallucinations". I decided to follow my crazy idea. I squished my hand and that created turned into a ball of meat.

       The ground was covered now with the créateurs blood. I felt vomit coming up my throat. What the fuck just happened?
