Chapter Seven: The Betrayal

Lena's pack faced the alpha's pack in a great and final battle, with both sides losing considerable numbers. They had tracked him down to his new hideout, a warehouse in the outskirts of the city. They had gathered all their remaining forces, and prepared for the showdown.

They stormed the warehouse from all sides, surprising and overwhelming the Nightwalkers. They fought with skill, courage, and rage. They used guns, knives, and bombs. They used fire, silver, and wolfsbane.

They killed most of them, and captured some of them. They spared none of them.

They searched the warehouse for the alpha, hoping to find him and end him. They checked every room, every corner, every closet.

And they found him.

He was waiting for them, in the center of the warehouse. He was surrounded by his loyal followers, who formed a protective circle around him. He was armed with a shotgun, a machete, and a grenade. He was ready for them, and he smiled wickedly.

He spoke to them in a loud voice, a voice that Lena recognized and hated.

"Welcome to my party, Moonlighters. I'm so glad you could make it. I've been expecting you."

He laughed maniacally, and fired his shotgun at them.

He started the battle, and he ended it.

He killed most of them, and injured some of them. He spared none of them.

He fought with strength, speed, and ruthlessness. He used his shotgun, his machete, and his grenade. He used his claws, his teeth, and his tail.

He was unstoppable.

He was invincible.

But he made a mistake.

He underestimated Sarah's will to betray Lena.

She saw an opportunity, and she took it.

She had been Lena's second-in-command, and her best friend. She had been the first one to join her crew, and the most loyal one. She had pretended to hate the alpha: he had killed her brother.

But that was a lie.

She had been a spy, working for the alpha. She had loved him since she first saw him. She had betrayed her brother for him. She had betrayed Lena for him.

She waited for the right moment to strike, to reveal her true colors. She waited until Lena reached the alpha, and faced him.

She looked at Lena with a smile, a smile that Lena recognized and trusted.

She spoke to her in a low voice, a voice that Lena thought was her friend's.

"Hello, my love. I've been waiting for you. I've come to say goodbye."

She stabbed her in the back making her gasp in pain. She twisted the knife, making her bleed more. She leaned closer to her, and whispered in her ear.

"I love him."

She killed her slowly, making sure she felt every bit of betrayal.

She killed her coldly, making sure she knew who was the traitor.

She killed her cruelly, making sure she died alone.

She killed her with hate. And that was the betrayal.
