CHAPTER TWO: SPEEDIN' BULLET TO HEAVEN

I arrived at the top of the mountain after about an hour of flying through the trees in the dense forest. My clothes were drenched from running through trees and dew near the top.

The mountain looked very unlike a mountain, the top was ice cold as expected, but there was a small building like a castle, towering into the sky.

I could stand there and wonder where it led all day long, but unfortunately I had a job to save my friend's life.

I ran to the small building which had no defence algorithms in place, I opened the large wooden door that was in my way.

I took a quick glance of the way that I just came through, making sure I was not being followed by anyone or anything.

The first room in the tower was sort of like a living room, with paintings along the walls, and velour couches all around the room.

A set of stairs led up to the second floor of the tower, the stairs had a dark red carpet on them, which might as well have been a mile long, seeing how long and nonstop it was.

Like the dead man walking into the gates of hell, I walked into the dark staircase which was so dark I had to use a lighter to get a simple grasp of the surroundings.

The collection of paintings seemed to continue along the staircase, though the ones here had names at the bottom of them. Each name was uniquely weird; Alexander Munroe, Helix Montoyya, Carlton Montoyya, James Ramirez, Grace Montoyya( Montoyya appeared the most, must have been a family home)

A door to a second room appeared on my left, this door was not as big as the entrance

Though it seemed to be made of the same wood textured material.

I opened it slowly and I walked in a sneaky way that would seem to entail I was a thief of some sort or nature, which was validly false..

I looked around the circular room, which had red painted walls and a high ceiling with small chandeliers upon it which gave it the image of a night sky in the country of blood and red suns.

A large study table was mounted in the centre of the room, though this was greatly overshadowed by the large bookshelves lining the two walls on the right and seemed to engulf the whole aesthetic of the room in general.

I pulled my lighter higher up and pointed it at the walls desperately looking for a light switch or anything to light up the room.

To my surprise, a pair of candles stood on stands on either side of the door, each made up of the image of a beautiful woman. One was dark and the other was light.

I lit the candles and quickly went about looking for the communicator which could only be here, seeing it was the busiest looking room in this tower so far.

I climbed one of the ladders which led to a sort of mini computer station on top of the shelves, with the logo LANCELOT EMPIRE, brandished on it, finally I had found the bloody communicator.

I turned the on/off switch and watched as the computer hummed to life, this would have been a sliver more interesting if it didn't show a notification saying it had to update in 20 minutes time( great, more time wasted)

I quickly typed in the message for sir lazarus and waited as it updated until the message would be sent.

I decided that if I was going to wait I'd at least try to find some decent clothing, as the fact that I was in my underwear dawned on me at a not so bright moment.

I got down the ladder and began to look for clothes around the room, finding a red shirt that said 'Propane is gnarly', and a pair of cargo pants that were charcoal black.

I got bored extremely fast and by this time I was sure at least thirty minutes had passed, but no, only three minutes had passed.

" Can this get any worse", I whispered.

" Let's find out", a pair of voices replied

" who is there, come out before this gets messy?", i announced

My words were followed by a brief silence before two women walked into the room, each holding a large axe and wearing amazon armor.

They looked at me with only a single plausible intention, to kill me.

" Can we work this out nicely?", i pleaded

" Or we can show you what we do to trespassers here", the dark one said, before blasting me right through the wall and right out of the tower.

I landed in a crop of bushes and trees, and was left looking like I had just started a fight with a demon, maybe I did.

I got to my feet, gear in hand now, with my scythe ready to stab and kill and do scythe things.

The two ladies landed down, each jumping from the me-shaped cavity in the wall and landing on their feet (must i remind you that the jump was two stories high?)

The dark one ran at me with blinding speed, landing a punch on my face, before attempting to land a swing of her axe at me, which I blocked with one of my scythe.

I in turn swung a blow, which sailed past the air where her head was supposed to be.

She quickly counter attacked this by sliding her foot under mine, which caused me to slip and fall to the ground.

I tried to adjust my vision as it grew blurry and foggy after I fell, I could barely make out the shape of the two women.

The dark one stayed in my view and I took this as an opportunity to play dead. I waited until she got out of a battle stance and began to walk away, then I pulled out my rifle and shot her in the shoulder.

She let out a cry of pain as blue blood sprayed out of the wound. If I thought she was angry before, now she is furious.

The light one was now standing beside her and raised her axe to attack me which I easily dodged.

I began to scale the treetops using my gear, landing blows on the light one at blinding speeds using my scythe.

I went up one high tree and decided to strike a finishing blow, but my short moment of supremacy was short-lived as the dark one jumped from behind me and caught me with her fist on my stomach.

I landed on the ground with a loud thump, followed by a crack, which was hopefully a branch and not my bones.

The two women stood over my defeated and humiliated body, they were free to end my life right now, and I was pretty sure they were going to kill me.

" Any last wishes fool?", they said in unison.

" Yeah, screw you", i replied

The light one, clearly offended, raised her axe to end it and it came swinging down at a blinding speed.

This was followed by a thump, and a sharp pain on my chest.

But it was not because I had been stabbed, but because the light one's lifeless body fell on me, this was followed by a bullet going straight through the head of the dark one.

I pushed the light one's body off me and stood up quickly, I could feel a sharp pain in my ribs, probably a break.

I stood in my battle stance, even though I was halfway to death, a soldier never stopped fighting until he could not.

" Who the bloody hell is out there, what in the shepherd's name do you want?", i yelled as i coughed up some drops of blood, shit i was seriously injured, i was definitely dying today.

" Come on Damien, is that a way to speak to your favourite teacher?", a voice said as a man in a long black coat stepped out of the marsh dressed in military gear, this man was not just any man.

" Lazarus?"

" in the flesh"

" Well you're here pretty early aren't you?"

" hold the sarcasm, we have to help sebastien"

Wow, for a short time while i was getting the shit and snot beaten out of me, i forgot i came to the tower so i could get some help with the problem at hand, sebastien.

" okay, we better start off, its an hour on foot"

" on foot?", he replied, " we have a ship" he said as a little jet appeared in the air

" woah.."

" woah indeed young damien"

"Let's go save a friend"
