With that tense exchange, class started. 'Just wait bitch. It doesn't matter if you're Sky's girlfriend right now, I WILL be Sky's girlfriend. No matter the cost.' Ahrana growled inwardly, sitting back down while smiling with half-lidded eyes externally.
Lunch soon came around, with Sky and Skadi once again going to the back of the school to eat lunch together away from prying eyes.
"You know Sky~." Skadi started.
"What?" He responded, looking up with his mouth stuffed with fried chicken and rice.
Skadi leaned against Sky's shoulder. "Everyday I spend with you, my love for you seems to grow, like a fire, warming my cold heart."
"Y-yet, at the same time, as that fire seems to grow, something else seems to be growing with it… Something wretched, horrible within me… Like just back then, when Arahna was talking about tutoring you one on one, I felt as if something inside me was breaking… I wanted to… to freeze her limbs and snap them off one by one…" She whispered into his ear, her eyes shining with a maniacal light.
"Maybe… maybe… I should trap you somewhere that none of those harlots can find us… We can live happily ever after…together…" Skadi muttered.
Sky recoiled slightly in shock and admittedly in fear. 'W-what's going on with Skadi? Her obsessive tendencies only seem to grow with each passing day…'
"Snap out of it Skadi!" Sky yelled at her, as she slowly approached him with dark, dull eyes and a slightly psychotic grin on her face.
"Sky… why do you run from me?! It's me, your girlfriend, Skadi!" Tears streamed down Skadi's face, yet her face showed no emotion as she suddenly flashed forward, clutching Sky's forearm with overwhelming strength. "TELL ME!" She screamed, her eyes hollow.
Sky hissed, feeling the extremely cold hand of his girlfriend gripping his arm. At this point, his hand was already becoming numb, having had no blood flow to it for a while. "Skadi, this isn't like you! Snap out of it!" He repeated, flinching in pain.
So he did the only thing he knew to do when she came to him when she was down or sad: he kissed her. Her irises shook slightly, yet she still didn't let go, her grip still constricting his arm; tears still flowing out of her hollow eyes.
Skadi's hand gripped Sky's arm tighter and tighter, eventually even causing blood to start pooling at where her nails made contact with his skin. Her mouth slowly opened, unbeknownst to Sky, and gradually, her teeth sunk into his neck, causing Sky to cry out in pain; the instinct of a yuki onna to drain their beloved's life force kicking in.
However, the pain quickly subsided, giving way to a plethora of memories flashing before Sky: memories of Skadi blushing for hours on end in her room at the notion of holding hands with Sky like an innocent maiden, memories of Skadi ruthlessly skewering the werewolves, memories of Skadi with a hate-filled gaze enviously watching Mia and Sky walk home, hand in hand, wishing that she were dead…
This is who Skadi truly was. A woman who was deeply in love with Sky, yet unable to be completely honest to Sky with her feelings. A cold queen who ruthlessly dealt with her enemies. An obsessive monster with a heart full of jealousy and malice towards those who came in between her and him.
"Now, you've seen all that the woman, Skadi Everwinter truly is… Do you see now? That she is a greedy, cold, selfish queen who is untrue to herself and her feelings?" A voice rang out in Sky's mind.
"Yes I do."
"I see now, that she is greedy, that she is jealous, that she is ruthless, I see that. But she is also kind and cute. She is obsessed with me. So what? It's just her way of expressing her love for me, even if it's not in the most healthy way. She's greedy? Who cares! Greed is what drives the human race forward." Sky continued.
"Most important of all, Skadi Everwinter is someone I've grown to love, trust, respect, and cherish! She's become an integral part of my life and until the day she doesn't want me, I'll stay by her side!"
Skadi's grip on his arm slackened, her hands quickly reaching out for Sky, as she sobbed, moved by Sky's declaration of love, but more importantly because of the increasing pool of red pooling around Sky's unconscious body as he lay there. Hell, Sky's arteries were punctured by her teeth! She shook him, again and again, her tears dripping on Sky's face. No response. She wailed in sorrow, shaking him again and again to no avail. Sky's heartbeat was starting to slow. His eyes starting to dim.
Coughing blood, Sky managed a weak smile. "I-It seems… It seems that I shouldn't have been worried about you leaving me, but about m-me leaving you… Sorry… Skadi…"
"AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" Skadi screamed, her voice containing unimaginable grief and pain. "THIS QUEEN WON'T ALLOW THIS!!!" She transformed into her Monarch Form, channeling her sadness. "THIS QUEEN COMMANDS THE WORLD! FREEZE!" Skadi cried. Then, the unimaginable happened. Sky's wounds magically stopped bleeding. His complexion stopped getting worse. His heartbeat stopped dropping. It was as if they were… frozen…
Concept: Freeze. Only someone who has gone through unimaginable heartbreak can possess this ability. Only when one's tears fall atop their beloved's corpse may one even try to comprehend this spell. The very concept of "freeze" is embodied by the spell. To freeze even the world itself for daring to try to steal the caster's loved one.
Skadi, somewhat dumbfounded by the phenomenon that she seemed to have created, quickly dialed 911, taking no chances with her beloved's life, prompting an ambulance to speedily arrive, taking Sky and her away.
