Chapter 44: Selecting classes

Serina went into the forest to look for monsters for me to fight. It would only attack them with fireballs with minimal power to aggravate them and make them chase her to the clearing.

Serina attracted a lot of monsters throughout the day and I was able to kill them all with ease. It became easy for me to use my wind ability just like my fire ability. I felt very happy about it.

I mostly fought monsters at close range if they are at or below the corporal stage to increase my fighting in close combat. If it is above the corporal stage I just used 'wind steps' to stay away and killed them by showering arrows.

By the end of the day, my storage backpack was full of monster cores, meat and other valuables to be sold for a huge amount of credit. I was satisfied with my hunt for the day.

I was a little sad since I was still unable to use my bow efficiently in close combat. But I know it can't be accomplished in a single day. It will take months of practice to become efficient.

I came to the border of the net connection range and called for an armoured car to leave the forest. I went directly to the market to sell my hunt. I kept the flaming beetle's shell and a few master stage fire and wind element monster cores to upgrade my turtle shell armour.

Since my weapon and armour are gradeless, I don't have to buy them every time I level up. I can just upgrade them using monster cores and the materials required. The blacksmith just needs to melt them and reforge them with the new materials.

I went to Joe's shop to give him the flaming beetle's shell, elemental monster cores and the armour to upgrade my armour to be more strong and more durable in fights. I also had my dinner there as I was asked to have my dinner at their house once a week.

It is a weird request that came from Kamran before he left for the place he can't tell to complete his mission. I am confused by his request but still agreed to it as I would also like to have company while eating dinner.

In the orphanage, at least 15 to 20 of us used to have dinner together. That is the same in the military. But now, I am eating every day alone and it is making me sad every day.

After dinner, I helped Aisha (Joe's wife) to clean the dishes and the kitchen before going home to take much-needed rest. I was completely drained of energy, as I continuously fought monsters. I only had about 5 to 10 minutes of rest before Serina brought another monster for me to fight.

After reaching home I went to bed and slept immediately as I already took shower at Joe's home before dinner. They even asked me to come and stay in their house as they have a spare room apart from their bedrooms and guest room.

But I rejected the offer as my training will need a huge space and it will be disturbing them while I train my archery skills. I was completely focused on increasing my power to reach higher recognition among the elite.

But first I must learn to be flexible so I can use my bow in close combat. I found out today that my body is not as flexible as I thought and that is one of the reasons why I am unable to use my bow.

I know that there are classes that will teach me how to be flexible and increase my speed too so I can become more efficient in close combat. I will be joining one of these classes to improve myself.

The next day, I started to browse through the net to look for a teaching institution to help me increase my flexibility and speed. I was shocked to see that there are more than ten ways to increase them. Now I need to find a good institution to join so I can start my classes the next month.

The teaching institution should be close to my house and should be affordable for me so I can go to the lessons without missing them any day except for my hunting.

I browsed the net for a while before finding three institutions that are close to my house which are good at teaching flexibility and is affordable to me.

I can't decide which institution I should join as these three institutions provide the same type of teaching for the same price and have the same ratings. They are identical to each other except for their location.

I wanted to check it more before deciding which institution I should join. I will visit the three institutions tomorrow and after that will decide depending on the infrastructure and methods of those institutions.

When I was thinking about this, I got a call on my holo watch. It is from Joe.

"Hey Allen, are you free tonight to come and have dinner with us?" he asked.

It has been two days since I had dinner with them and today will be the day I will get my armour back from him after the upgrade.

"Yeah, I'm free. I'll come by when you want me to" I said to him.

"Good, come home by 6:30, you can also check the upgrades on your armour" he said and disconnected the call.

I did my practice with the bow as usual and my exercises. After showering, I took some rest.

I went to Joe's s shop by 6:30 as he said and when I went in, I was shocked to see the mysterious guy who said he is recruiting elite sitting in the blacksmith shop and chatting with him.

I went inside and sat next to him, but did not speak to him.

"Hi Allen, meet Hoger, my friend from the old days. He is here to have dinner with us" Joe said to me introducing him to me.

'Old friends huh, then why do I feel like my life is going to get hard' I thought to myself.
