Because you look like my wife

The next day was Adam's day of departure towards the other City where the hunter examination will occur!

As early as 3:30 am, Adam was already awaked and was at train station already. Trains only travel twice a day, one every morning at 4:00 and evening at 6:00.

Adam had bought a ticket for the morning travel as he needs to be at the city before noon. It will take 5 hours before the train reached his destination.

Currently, it was 3:45 am. The train will come anytime now. A later while, Adam heard someone calling his name..

" Adam.. It seems you forgot something! .."

As Adam turns his head, he saw the commander on his automated wheelchair, coming near on him. He thought of what he forgot and upon giving it some thought, he cant remember forgotting anything.

The commander saw the confused look on Adam's face so he said a word to clear Adam's thought..

" Here, catch it! .. " , commander said, as he kicks a wallet size stuff to Adam.

Adam instinctively caught the thing and starts to open it..

" T..this!.. " , Adam mumbles as he saw whats inside the stuff, it was a cheque! He then take a look at the amount listed on the cheque.. He got shocked as he saw it!...

" 5 mi...million pesos! " , Adam shouted so loudly as he cant control his emotion and was shocked at the amount listed. This shout got the attention of other people in the train station..

Adam look at his surrounding and upon seeing the intimidating looks that others gave him, he blushed a little from embarassment and quickly hides his head.

" Pfft....", commander giggles as he saw Adam got embarassed...

Adam then looks at the giggling commander, then come near towards him and handed the cheque..

" I cant accept this... This must be the money you get from your pension and earn from your works right?!.. I cant accept this.." , Adam addedd as he puts the cheque on commanders lap.

The commander got a bit touched as he saw this. Normally, people would do their best to get all the benefits they can get from somebody else, especially nowadays that monsters exist. Even he did this before!

" No.. Its yours now! , You said you want to buy that skill right?!.." , commander paused..

" You dont have enough money to buy that skill, and I cant have you buying any measly, cheap, pathetic, pitiful...

" Ok! Ok! ", Adam interrupted as he thought that the commander would speak something again which went for ages long...

" Good! .. You better buy that skill, Okay! Im sure you will improve significantly with that skill! " , commander added..

They continued talking for minutes until the train arrived. When Adam was about to set foot on the train, he remembers the question on his mind which keeps bugging him..

" Say, why did you offer to be my mentor?! ", Adam said as he turns his head facing the commander..

But contrast to his expectation, the commander answered him with a chuckle " Guess why?!"

Adam got stunned at commanders answer, he was expecting a serious and compliment answer like..

' because you're too good! '

' because I see potential in you! '

' because I saw a great future awaits you! '

Something like that.... Adam thought, after a while of being lost in his own thought, he then answered commanders question..

" Hmmm.. Because you saw potential in me?! " , Adam said blushingly as he turns his head sideways

" Nope! " , commander replied

Again, Adam's expectation shattered upon hearing commander's answer!

" Is it because.. Im so great?! "

" Nope! "

" then...could it be..because you saw a great future that awaits me???!!!", Adam said excitedly with an eyes twinkling like a puppy..

" Nope! " , commander replied lazily

" Then why?! " , Adam said upfront as he was already full of embarassments from commanders' repeatedly denying his assumption..

" Because you look like my wife! " , Commander said with a chuckled

Adam got full already and as heard this, he was nearing exploding! He was so embarassed!

Adam began walking towards the door of the train with a redden face, knowing that the commander wont answer his question for now, he enters the train with a smile...
