Taking Back

I didn't heed his warning, and I closed the absorption of the life force.

The reaction from him was immediate.

The white gem flared in power, while he tried the same with the red gem, but there was no reaction. I too have the authority in there and I stopped, which made him shift his focus to the green gem.

"Bastard!" he cursed loudly, which shook the whole dome.

I think he is angrier at himself than me. Why? Because, in his overconfidence, he overlooked the green gem. He didn't even imprint it, which wouldn't have taken him more than a few seconds.

I repelled his attempt at the green gem; I didn't even let him enter inside. 

He might have been able to do that forcefully. It had complete access to two gems, but he didn't; he shared the access of one gem with me and thus couldn't use the force of one gem to forcefully imprint.
