She looked at Zaar and the old snake; she couldn't even see their figure since that dangerous fire had come out of nowhere. It had destroyed hundreds of miles of areas, vaporized the water in the lake, and crystalized the earth.

She could sense the power of fire from where she was fighting humans, and it scared her. She is confident she will be burned to death if she dares to touch that fire.

She won't know where the fire comes from; it could be from Zaar, but also an old snake. Likely an old snake, a century ago, he had boasted of having found a great fire, and this is likely the fire he was talking about.
