48 Visiting the city

The next morning, Aurus woke up and took care of his two little contracted beasts before he made his way to the kitchen. Everyone except for a few employees was present for breakfast. After eating and giving some food for the contracted beasts, Aurus went downstairs and looked at the shop.

He didn't stay for long as he left the shop a little while after and decided to go walking around the city. Ever since he had come to this world, he had never really taken the time to visit the entire city. He figured that since the next wave would only come a few hours later, he could take the time to visit.

Just before leaving, Aurus went to the last floor of the dungeon. "Amuna, I know that you don't have to do much for the dungeon once it's up and running. Are you interested in accompanying me to visit the city today?" Aurus looked at her with a gentle smile while offering her a hand since she was on her knees tending to her flowers.

Excited by his invitation, she took his hand and he helped her up as she laughed a little bit while nodding her head and going into her small house.

As Aurus was waiting for her to be prepared, he looked at the various flowers she had planted around her house. There were all kinds of flowers in all kinds of colours. Aurus despite not being an expert at flowers, he could recognize some such as the roses which were of five different colours such as red, white, blue, pink and black. Along with those roses were some blue irises, some tulip and s lily. Seeing the number of roses near her house, Aurus could tell she loved roses and planned on buying some seeds for her while they were exploring the city a while later.

While he was admiring the various flowers on the floor, he heard the door open and when he turned around, a sight which made even the flowers pale in comparison appeared before his eyes. Amuna wore a completely white dress. Couples with her black hair which cascaded on her back Aurus couldn't stop looking at her. She wore two white shoes and the dress stopped at her knee. She had two blue eyes which looked like gems and the two horns on her forehead gave her an extremely special and attractive appearance.

"So, how do I look?" She asked while lowering her head and avoiding eye contact Aurus. She had a little blush on her face which made her look cute.

Still looking at her with a fixed gaze in awe, Aurus came back to himself when hearing her question. "You look great!" He answered her simply while looking at her.

Amuna simply lowered her head a little lower, but it wasn't able to hide the wide smile on her face which showed her happiness in being praised by Aurus.

As Aurus approached her, she retreated half a step but stopped before stepping back and looked at Aurus who was approaching her.

In a second, as Aurus was approaching her, he opened the special category which had anything he needed in the multiple worlds. Making a quick search for a flower, he bought a rose camellia flower from the shop and made it appear in his hand as he came closer to Amuna. Bringing the flower gently to her hair, he helped her wear the flower on the right side of her hair, just behind her right ear.

At the same time as he helped her wear the flower, he noticed that she had hidden her small tail in her dress. Smiling lightly, he offered her a hand and after seeing her ready to go, he teleported her to the top of the dungeon. He would normally have wanted to walk upstairs with her but considering the number of stairs in the dungeon, he figured it was better to teleport.

When they arrived at the entrance of the dungeon, he took her hand and escorted her to the shop. Luckily, before going to ask her out, he had changed into more formal clothes which didn't make him stand out too much and instead they fitted right together.

As they entered the shop hand in hand, the customers turned their heads around to look at them. Not only was it the first time they saw someone with two small horns on their forehead, but Amuna was also a great beauty with clothes that accentuated her beauty.

Seeing Aurus along with her, they all showed knowing smiles and turned their heads back to shopping, not wanting to bother the two. Aurus also noticed the small smiles of the employees who were working in the store as they saw him escort Amuna out. They were already aware they seemed to like each other's presence as there were some small details such as sitting down next to each other when they ate or giving a quick glance to each other from time to time.

Nodding their heads to the other employees, he felt a little bad having them work while he took Amuna out. He decided that as soon as the beast wave was done, he would close the shop for a day and bring everyone out to eat at a restaurant. While the cooks probably wouldn't be as good as the two fairies, it would allow them to go out and taste new cuisine.

After the two left, everything went back to normal in the shop. On the other side, Amuna was a little shy after all the attention they had gotten in the shop and she unconsciously came a little closer to Aurus.

"Alright, how about we start by going to the mirror lake? I heard there were all kinds of flowers in the surroundings and there was a beautiful sight." Aurus turned his head and looked at Amuna as she followed him without speaking.

"Hum". She nodded while humming a little with a blush still on her face.

'Thankfully, I have slightly tanned since coming in this world or else my blush would be obvious.' Amuna thought this as she walked hand in hand with Aurus.

Unfortunately for her, although she had indeed tanned, it wasn't to the point where it would hide her blush and Aurus laughed slightly seeing her like this.

It had been a while since he had been this free and relaxed. He had been dealing with everything since coming into this world. Unknowingly, it had almost been a month since he came to this world and he hadn't had time to relax since then as he was always busy with one thing or another. Luckily, with the plan he had prepared, he would have more time for himself in the future.

Since he had been busy, he hadn't had time to visit the city and now he felt very curious about the difference between this world and Earth. Obviously, this world lacks the technology of Earth. There were no transportations like cars, busses, planes or trains. In this world, the contracted beasts were the transportations and those who didn't have any? They would be fated to stay in this safe zone for the rest of their lives.

As for the roads, they were made of flat stones that were embedded one in another. The buildings were mostly made of either stones or woods. Each window was made of glass, not like the old-style on Earth where it was made of wood. The buildings all varied in their height and the house he was living in, a four-story-high house was quite special as there were not many houses with such a number of floors. Most houses only had a single or two floors while the houses with three floors were rarer.

From where he was, Aurus and Amuna could see a gigantic building in the center of the safe zone. The mirror lake was on the right side of this building. The building which was eight-story high was the building of the royalty. This building dealt with the management of the city and the eight floor was also the exclusive floor of the royalty if they were to ever come to this city.

While walking, the two of them often stopped to look at interesting items being sold in the stores and Aurus stopped at a florist shop to buy roses seeds of different colours. The shop was selling seeds of yellow, light-blue as well as a seed that the owner of the shop called true-blood black rose.

After buying the seeds much to the appreciation of Amuna who had a smile plastered on her face and had a skip in her steps, they continued their way across the various stalls and shops in the city.

Aurus noticed that the citizens of the city weren't as scared as they had been a few days back before the first wave arrived. Probably, having managed to repel the first wave without too many casualties had given the citizens back their confidence at the city defence team.

As they were walking, Aurus and Amuna continued to talk together and they laughed often. With a big smile on both of their faces and a lot of people looking at them with warm smiles due to their happiness, they finally arrived at the mirror lake.
