Mono-kouneli and the White Crane

In the Elysian realm, a white-haired little Princess was born in the Land of Sunshia. Despite the fact that the Kingdom of Sunshia had been blessed with a beautiful white-haired baby. The King doesn't even think of her as his daughter. He believed the old legends that if you were blessed with a child with white hair, everyone around her would die. As an outcome, the King makes a hasty and cruel decision for the entire Kingdom. He told the midwife who came when his wife was in labor to throw the baby anywhere or, worse, kill her. But because the Queen knows she gave birth to a girl, they swap the Queen's baby for the slave's baby. While the midwife was about to dispose of the Queen's daughter, some knights started chasing her down. The king intended to get rid of both the Queen's daughter and midwife without mercy. Fortunately, the midwife and the baby were able to flee into another Kingdom with the assistance of a friend. The midwife's rage led to a promise that the only way for her vengeance would be to raise the little Princess and return her to her rightful place. Krahn, as the baby was soon to be known, was raised in the Land of Astrea. A Kingdom without a sun rises above the sky, as does a Prince with Mono-kouneli syndrome, whom she will later meet. Krahn, as the baby was soon to be known, was raised in the Land of Astrea. A Kingdom without a sun rises above the sky, as does a Prince with Mono-kouneli syndrome, whom she will later meet.

The wind is blowing so cold, the chatters are growing louder. People in the kingdom of Astrea has rejoiced for the wonderful festival that they celebrate once a year. They are thanking the Gods and Goddesses for the prosperous year that was given to them once more. However, even how much this gratitude of this kingdom would show to the eyes of the people. This won't conceal the evil plan that they set up for the poor ones.

A man who wears shielded armour leads the soldiers of the Astrea to purge the people who live in the south, Slaves. They are ordered to wipe everyone's out including the white-haired person who has been rumoured to be living amongst the rest.

Major General Altos took the first step in the boundary of the Slave village with his Assistance, General Weston. The two of them takes a huge part in this project because they are the trusted men of the king in the kingdom of Astrea.

"How is it going?" the major general inquired his assistance about the matter in the city. "Everyone is focused on the festival, I'm pretty sure no one would notice." his assistance replied.

"What about Prince Eos?"

"He was on his way to retrieve the Mono-kouneli."

The major general nodded to their plan is going to be smooth as they thought it would from the start.

"Alright, men! We must do this quickly."

"If anyone of you sees or find the white-haired rat that was hiding within the boundaries of Slaves. Do not step back and kill it without hesitation. Is that clear?!"

"Sir, Yes Sir!" Their men synchronized replied.

"Burn them all!"

As they started to do the merciless tragedy that wasn't written within the stars.

Krahn's point of view.

"A magic circle in the sky!" It was my first time seeing this but I'm both prisoned by the thrill and fear. That magic circle appears across the borders where Ozciel's house perch. My heart began to beat so fast; something is happening but I fear that I might get caught in something.

"Why am I being a coward! Like I said to Hakurei before, if someone needs my help then I won't hesitate to do so." I hit my legs a few times, straighten forward.

I run ahead, "Oz." and somehow ask myself, if something is really happening. Can I really fight back? It's bugging me, but I can't just do nothing at all.

When I was taking my path, I saw the familiar wolves whining. And when they see me, they run closer to me however, they didn't attack me instead, they sit and kneeled down as they wag their tails.

"What's wrong?" these are the wolves who furiously tried to eat me but now, they act strangely, and are tamed. "Arf!" one of them barked as all of them faced a certain direction. They are all pointing to the area where Ozciel lives.

"Could it be?" I lifted my head and stared at it, "Something is happening, right? Just as I thought. Alright… Let's go!" I ran with the wolves with me, they are following me somehow and as if they are also guarding me.

When I arrived at the place. Everything was so quiet, with no lights or either the magic circle that I have seen before. I'm getting a bad feeling about this but I should check if Oz is here so I could ask him what is happening.

"Oz! I'm here! Where are you? We're supposed to go to the Lantern Festival, right?" I shouted out of curiosity, whether he will answer or not, I waited patiently.

I went to the balcony of the house. The door was shut, and so I knocked three times but no one is answering or responding at all. "Oz? Are you there?" I uttered loudly, enough for him to hear.

I heard the wolves are crying, I glance slightly at them and they kneeled down with a sad expression. When I set my eyes to the doorknob, I thought of opening it myself to see what's going on inside.

"I'm going in—" was about to open the door when the door opened itself. There I saw someone who's standing, greeted me with a smile. "I'm sorry! I was preparing that I didn't able to respond on time. Krahn!" It was Oz, wearing noble clothing.

Oz eventually grabbed my hand as he pulled me in a bit of an enthusiastic manner. He then embraced me tightly, "Hm. So, you are that girl."

"Huh?" I heard him whispered something odd but when I made a glance at him, he just shook his head and the smile still vibrated in the whole place. Somehow, he seems strange than before.

"Hm. Don't mind me. I'm just glad to see you again!"

See me again?

"Are you sure? Earlier, I saw a huge magic circle in the sky as if something is happening!" I informed him about the circle, "Plus the wolves are acting strangely!"

"What wolves?"

But when I faced the wolves who were with me before, as if like I didn't have them before. I was left alone with Oz instead. "They're gone…" Why are they gone? They were here a moment before. I'm not hallucinating, right?

"About the magic circle that you saw. I was trying to practice magic! Did you like it? It sure shone the brightest, right?" he said while swaying himself back and forth. "Oh?"

"So, how was it? Do you want to see more?"

My mouth just left a gap for I was speechless of how I would suppose to react. And so, back then when my hands were being controlled, it was his magic? Then why didn't he reveal it earlier? If he does, I wouldn't think that he was some sort of freak or something.

"Anyway, we should get going. I'm sure Hakurei would be waiting for us." I'll just dodge his question to end this unnecessary conversation. I stepped out, "Wait… where is Mister Butler?" I don't see him anywhere.

"Ah! He brought something. He'll be back later." Strange, mister butler really left this prince all by himself? I don't know, probably I'm just overthinking things. I should at least relax since Oz was just fine.

"Alright then… Let's go."

Both of us went to the city without any problem. The city was totally lightened up with a lot of lights. It was so beautiful and lively. There's a lot of people too, and even parades everywhere.

"Uwah! This is so beautiful!" there's a floating bird created by magic. "Say, Oz! Do you know what kind of bird is that?"

"Oh? It's a black-grey striped crane. Mostly they can be seen in the west but since it's created by magic, you will see anything that wasn't even existing here." I got confused when he gave me a strange answer.

I glanced at him; he was focused on the parade. I know that grey is another component of black but, there is still a slight difference between those two colours. How could he tell the difference between it? Is it just me or, I'm just freaking out here? Because I know Oz wouldn't like to talk about the colours since he can't see them.

"Say, what do you think about my dress today?" Somehow, I got to question him about the dress he gave me. "It suits you the most. It's pretty on you, I'm surprised that you wear such a pretty dress today. Somehow, it matched mine!" That's right, this Oz is different.

He was the one who gave me this dress and yet he talks strangely. This Oz is not Oz at all. I have to get away from him and find the real Oz. but how? He might figure out something if I act strangely all of the sudden.

"Krahn! Krahn, what the hell! I was waiting right there for you—" it's Hakurei. Nice timing, "W-who is this? Is this the guy who're you talking about?"

I smiled at him and nodded. "Oh right! Does anyone want a drink? I will buy for you guys—" I was planning to escape, however; this fake Oz abruptly grasped my left arm. "I'll go with you!"

This is bad. He is keeping an eye on me.
