Chapter 32: Birth

It's been 5 months since Demetri showed up and now I'm 7 months pregnant and it hasn't been easy. The nausea and the heightened emotions have been a pain. Thankfully Timoteo has been by my side the entire time. It's weird I mean he comes all the time and sees if I'm okay and acts like he's my grandfather. I guess I have taken that role apparently. Everyone keeps forgetting I'm strong, but I guess that's a good thing. The only one who knows some of my real strength is Demetri because he trained me, and he doesn't even know my full strength. He "died" too early and I kept training after he left so my power is hidden. Whatever it's not like I care. The most hilarious thing though is that Demetri has been avoiding him like the plague. Ah, I still remember when they first saw each other again.

Flashback

I was cleaning up the counter when Demetri suddenly rushed in and hid behind me.

"Wha-!. Sensei, what are you doing?" I asked him startled

He doesn't answer me and glances to the door and waits. No one comes in and he sighs. He straightens himself up and clears his throat while blushing in embarrassment.

"Nothing, just really wanted some cake" He says quickly

"Really" I say slowly with an eyebrow raised

"Yeah, I mean who doesn't want cake it's the best" He says trying to distract me

He wasn't even close. I suddenly sense someone coming and discretely glance at the door. A minute later Timoteo is seen entering

"Ah, I understand now" I say nodding my head

I look back over at Demetri and don't see him anymore. I look down and there he is hiding underneath the counter. Before I can say anything Timoteo comes up to me.

"Alex, have you seen your teacher" He says kindly but I can hear annoyance laced in between.

I was debating whether I should tell him or not, but since I love making people uncomfortable I would never miss a chance.

"Hm? Why do you want to see him" I said leaning on the counter with my head resting in my palm. Though my other hand was on top of Demetri's head playing with his hair teasingly. I could feel him freeze up.

"I haven't spoken to him yet and would love to see my friend again. Though Demetri seems to be avoiding me for some reason" Timoteo says, unaware of the shaking person underneath the counter.

'Why wouldn't he want to see his best friend. Does it have something to do with him leaving in the first place' Alex thought confused

Timoteo seeing my confuse face explains

"He thinks I'm angry with him for leaving. I don't know why though" He sounds thoughtful

I stare at him with the most deadpan face I could muster

"What?" He said noticing my expression

"Are you angry. Cause your terrifying KI doesn't really help with your statement" I said rolling my eyes

Timoteo looks at me innocently and doesn't answer

*sigh*

'These people are terrifying' Alex thought

"Yeah, I've seen him" I say walking around the corner dragging Demetri with me. When he comes into view of Timoteo he starts sweating profusely and tries to make a run for it, but I'm stronger than him and he can't escape.

"Alex Alex, my most amazing student. Please save your Sensei from his demise" He starts begging me glancing at Timoteo who is watching with a creepy predatory grin

'This is gonna be fun' I thought

"Why would I do that? Timoteo has been helpful to me for the past months and I think I should repay him somehow and your the perfect present for him" I say looking like a naive schoolgirl'

"Oh, thank you Alex this is a great present" He says, also playing innocent before grabbing Demetri and dragging him towards the door.

"Come on Demetri we have a lot to catch up on" Timoteo said with a sinister glint in his eyes

I go back to the counter ignoring the cries for help

*giggle*

"I love amusement" I said

Flashback end

I don't know what happened to him, but ever since he was too afraid to be in the presence of Timoteo.

I did hear how Demetri was alive though. Apparently he asked Dr. Shamal to give him something that would make him stop breathing for a while so I would think he was dead. I feel honored he went that far to fool me. Though I wonder how he convinced Shamal because I remember he only treats girls?

Flashback

"Here" Demetri says handing over picture of Alex smiling

"Thanks for the transaction" Shamal grabbed the pictures

Present

Well anyways I've been shopping for baby supplies and even decorated the nursery. It's so CUTE, btw. Also Timoteo made some of his subordinates help me whenever I needed it. I hired one of them for an employer so I don't have to maintain my shop all the time now. It's great I get to be even more lazy.

I spent a lot of time talking to my belly because I heard the babies can hear your voice or something. I dont know I'm just being weird.

Timeskip

It's been 2 months and I'm in the hospital about to give birth

"Push Alex" The nurse said

"ARG" I screamed and pushed really hard

"One more time I can see the head" She encouraged

"GODDAMMIT" I pushed one last time before I heard the wails of a baby

"Congratulations it's a girl" The nurse said happily

"Can I hold her" I said tiredly

The nurse gives her to me and I hold the tiny creature in my arms. I start crying happily. Timoteo sits next to me.

"What are you going to name her" He said softly

I look at my baby and think back to my past life and this one. I've always hoped something like this would happen and I would name her Hope, but.

"Her name is....."
