Meet Anubis, the Crown of the Vampire Lord. His emergence in this peculiar world raises countless question marks and uncertainties. His existence is peculiar; he was never programmed to be part of the story, or even to exist in The Last Fantasy game world itself. Yet, here he stands, defying fate! Through his extraordinary presence, he captivates the attention of all; players, NPCs, GMs, and even those who proudly embody the concepts of regressors, reincarnators, rebirth, and divine powers. Along his vast and unguided journey, he encounters countless anomalies. Confronted by beings who claim not to belong to this realm, each with their own goals and threats. Ultimately, it is Anubis who will raise the curtain, inviting those who assert their ownership of this world, and unveiling the true purpose of his existence and the enigmatic secrets that lie within.

"Authority Experience?!" Trying to confirm it, Anubis opened his status window:

————————————————————

◽ Identity: Anubis

◽ Title: The Crown of the Vampire Lord*

◽ Origin: Pure Vampire

◽ Class: [?]

◽ Base Level: 17 〔42.3% / 100%〕

◽ Class Level: 8 〔21.1% / 100%〕

◽ Authority Level: 0 〔0.15% / 100%〕*

————————————————————

There was one new category that appeared, which he previously believed did not exist there.

[!] Authority Level: Authority to execute Command Call, Access Authority, and Privilege Access.

Even after reading it, it only provided a glimpse of the mysteries surrounding him at the moment. One thing is for certain, he couldn't consider this to be something normal.

Regardless of what this Authority Level actually is, Anubis finally felt something that vampires so yearn for. It was like a craving for blood for vampires. Anubis had never experienced it before, but after killing the guard, he began to understand how it felt to desire something so intensely.

It felt delightful, refreshing. No, more importantly, Anubis could sense, feel, and be certain that the fog that shrouded his memory was lifting. His memories were becoming clearer. Like a pebble thrown at a wall of smoke, forming a small hole in its wake, except that the hole didn't close up, it remained hollow like that. His memory grew stronger, he felt like he had obtained something very precious.

"But that's all of it... I guess equating it to vampires' cravings for blood is wrong," he muttered, the sensation of ecstasy vanishing not long after. From the beginning, he couldn't feel the ecstasy of his kin's attraction to blood, so he was not that interested.

Despite saying that, the laws of nature in this world are truly different. Strange. If there were people who knew more about things, it would be those who held positions, titles, and power, meaning constantly fighting these weaklings would yield nothing.

That's why Anubis allowed the guard to call for reinforcements, besides, he had heard something that could almost certainly shed light on his ignorance of this world.

But before what he had hoped for arrived, Anubis still had to deal with something trivial.

From the distant trees, the sound of many humans rumbling started to approach. They were guards and players curious about the flare that was still burning and flickering red in the sky above.

At this moment, the wind blows as if waving, the trees stand tall with gaps between them.

The ground is covered in a carpet of fallen leaves, showcasing a medley of purple, green, and orange hues. Some leaves are still vibrant and young, while others have aged and decayed. In an instant, something powerful shoots out, hitting a man with great force.

"W-what..." the man gasps, feeling a tightness in his chest. He is still trying to comprehend what is happening when he notices that something shattered in his field of view.

It was his own health bar!

With just one hit, the player's avatar disintegrates, causing panic among the others who have arrived at the scene. They quickly recognize the one responsible for the attack.

"It's him…the vampire!"

Amidst the falling leaves, Anubis stands calmly after eliminating the player. Many others rush toward him, but there is an odd pattern. They are all players, while the guards stand behind with a burden of fear in their hearts.

Swords and spears swing aimlessly through the air, missing their targets. The players surrounding Anubis are of lower levels compared to him. While one or two attacks may not have a significant effect, Anubis no longer intends to play around.

It is time for a massacre!

The low-level players offer no resistance, seemingly willing to provide small experience points to Anubis. The guards overseeing the battle understand that they are merely waiting for their turn, aware of the vast power difference between them.

However, among these guards and players, there is still someone different. The Administrator, that's what is written next to their icon. Believed that they are closer to the gods themselves and blessed by a unique treat.

While running towards the scene, the Administrator mutters in annoyance, "While I'm doing a routine check... and then what? Don't let my salary get cut because of this, damn it."

Observing the guards standing idly without taking action, the Administrator comments, some glancing in his direction, while others lost in their own thoughts. "Why are they just standing there and not doing anything? Hmph, though I understand their reasons too."

This isn't the Administrator's first time entering this world, nor has it been just three months since he began his expansion. He has been present since the inception of The Last Fantasy project itself, even during its early stages of conceptualization. One could say he's one of the field officers.

Given this knowledge, it's not difficult for him to understand why the guards hesitate to confront the enemy like the players do. However, in an instant, the number of players drastically decreases, a deviation from his expectations. "A red-colored flare… highest level of threat. I wonder what this problem is... aand, whaat?! A sticklike vampire, for real?"

He had hoped for something that would bring anomalies, perhaps a super-powerful ancient mythological creature. And now, it was just a vampire that seemed like it would soon be incinerated by the sunlight?

"How weak are you players actually, sheesh!" he muttered under his breath.

Some guards stepped aside, clearing the way for the Administrator as he entered the battlefield. With his palm open and extended towards the vampire, he uttered, "Command Call: Identity!"

But then he himself froze in place, a look of surprise painted across his facial expression, but he refused to give up and made another attempt, tightening his palm muscles and concentrating. "Command Call, Access Authority: Identity!"

[!] System Alert: Low Authority Level, failed to perform Identity!

"W-whaaat?!"

Throughout the entirety of his tenure, they had never encountered anomalies like the one happening now. Command Call was a special power given only to the team developers, and it was not widespread. Though User-levels had their own hierarchy, but still—

"Low Authority Level... is it possible?!" The Administrator murmured in confusion, gazing at his own palm as if something was terribly wrong. A thought crossed his mind—an unlikely yet possible answer.

Pushing through the crowd of useless players, Anubis darted straight towards a guard who stood apart from the rest. His Bloodthirsty can't sense the presence of this particular guard. What was even more suspicious for Anubis was that he had overheard all of this guard's musing since he came into the scene.

As the realization dawned on the Administrator, he couldn't believe that he was being targeted. In fact, he had never considered such a possibility. Why? As an Administrator, they possessed special Incognito rights that obscured their presence and identity, ensuring they wouldn't become a target of hatred for the monsters.

"H-He's charging towards me? R-Relax, maybe he's targeting other guards, there are many people here and I can't possibly be a threat to the inhabitants of this world, right? Right, RIGHT?"

Yet, to his dismay, the vampire disregarded everyone else and locked its crimson eyes onto him. It felt as though those eyes were piercing deep into his very being. "R-Relax, I'm immune to damage," he stammered, persistently reassuring himself. But before he could finish his thought, a sudden excruciating pain overwhelmed him.

With seemingly little effort, the vampire lifted him off the ground with its sharp claws piercing through his heart.

Anubis was not satisfied with just that. He threw the Administrator's body into the air, not too high, just enough to tear it apart multiple times, causing it to bounce up and down.

The sight was horrifying—a normal human form torn to shreds in mid-air, denied the dignity of falling to the ground. However, the spectacle was short-lived, as the Administrator's avatar vanished from the scene.

[Authority Exp+3%]

The increase from 0.15% to 3% may seem insignificant, a mere number on the screen. But for Anubis, it meant something entirely different. His being filled with otherworldly powers, his muscles instantly strengthened to the point where his hands trembled in strange yet familiar ecstasy.

Just as before, that pleasurable sensation vanished in an instant, as if nothing had happened.

Spectators could only look in silence, unable to comprehend what had transpired. But they know very well that the vampire just now, wouldn't leave any of its victims alive.
