The monsters that appeared before us were no taller than my waist. But they were still the first monsters I had seen since coming to this world. And I was surprised how detailed they are. It looks like TVAD (the company that made Rise of Legends) paid attention to the details. Their skin was somewhere between brown and green and they looked a bit like the goblins from the games I played back then.
"Be alert!" told us our team leader. Even though our team leader warned us, none of us panicked. I quietly looked at the monsters that appeared in front of us. There were three of them and they looked almost identical. They had a cloth around their waist that at least partially covered their body and a belt of clothing over their chest. Well, that was all.
"Nate, prepare your spell, Isai prepare your defense and Mica, you will try a surprise attack, do you think you can do it?" Abram asked me to which I nodded and agreed with my voice just to be sure.
Meanwhile, Abram went on the attack and Isaiah covered him. Meanwhile, I activated my only skill, Shadow steps, and dived into the shadows. I already held my daggers in my hands and silently observed the situation. Nate looked like he had almost finished his spell, Abram had already managed to take one of monster down that look something like a goblin, and Isaiah was holding back the other two.
"I'm ready!" Nate shouted over the other noises.
"You can!" Isaiah yelled and both he and Abram scrambled out of the way. I pressed myself closer to the wall and watched how much damage Nate's spell would do. As long as Nate's spell takes out both of them, I won't have to engage in combat now. But it wasn't that I didn't want to fight. This was only the beginning, I was sure that I would have many more chances to show off. Nate's spell reached the two goblins and they flew into the wall. 'Hm? Does Nate have an affiliation with the air element?' I then decided to ask him even though I was sure he wouldn't answer.
So far, I've been watching to see if the two goblins remain folded on the ground where they landed or if they stand up and attack again.
Nothing happened for a while, but then I registered an almost slight movement of one of them. One stood up slowly, anger glaring in his black eyes. That's when I decided to brush up on my fighting skills. In no time, my skill transported me directly behind the monster and my dagger stuck into its throat. But I didn't finish there, and after a few flicks of the dagger, the goblin's head separated from its body. Better to be sure it's dead than to regret it later. I turned off my skill and looked at the other party members. Nate looked unmoved, Isaiah was shocked but there was pride in his eyes and Abram just nodded at me. I didn't even notice it, but a faint smile played on my lips. Well, as soon as I realized it, I stopped smiling. I walked back to my team and together we went deeper into the dungeon.

He was interesting, that new man Mica. Not only did he not freeze in horror when he saw monsters (which more than 75% of players do on their first dungeon raid even if they played games before) but he was even able to kill one monster without hesitation. Although it was only a weak monster, one of the weakest in fact, he did it without hesitation. Even I, who has been playing games since I could walk basically, didn't kill a monster so mercilessly on my first dungeon raid. Most players have trouble killing monsters in the beginning, mainly because everything looks extremely realistic and they panicked. And half freeze in fear and their teammates have to protect them until they come to their senses. But Mica is doing well. And that's why I found it interesting.
"Let's continue" I said and we got back into our formation and went forward.

'You have received 25 EP'

I was satisfied. For being one of the easiest monsters, I got 25 EP from killing it. You then level up based on EP. Along with Nate, Abram and Isaiah, we continued deeper into the cave and in a few minutes we came across another group of monster that looked like goblins. Nate took two, as did I, and the other three remained on the necks of Abram and Isaiah.
____
The fight did not last long. Even though there were only four of us and none of us were particularly strong and experienced, clearing this dungeon wasn't difficult at all. Yet. Nate and I accounted for the most kills. The team leader left us and basically they mainly watched over us. Well, or rather only over me because Nate was more experienced than Abram and Isaiah. I killed 14 of these kind of goblin monsters and earned 285 EP whereas for every other kill I got 20 EP and not 25 EP. Nate has 16 kills, Abram 11 and Isaiah 3 since he is in charger of defense and not offense. There shouldn't be many other monsters left, and only the dungeon boss should be left. A D-Rank monster. Even though I got some EP and 2 Stats Points I put into Stamina and Speed, I wasn't sure if we could do it. My MP was at 80/175 and my HP at 185/320. I had no way to restore my MP and I could only hope that it would be enough for me until we finish the dungeon boss. When you disconnect from the game, MP and HP will recharge naturally. And moreover, time passes differently in the game than in reality. One day in the game is an hour and something in the real world. Amazing, isn't it?
"Nate, use the localization spell and find out if there are any other monsters besides the boss" ordered our team leader, and Nate nodded about it. I was seriously wondering how much MP that guy has if he has MP for such a spell and then for the boss fight.
I sat on the rock for a while and waited for Nate to finish the spell. Meanwhile, I rummaged through my backpack and pulled out a water bottle and took a drink. I still had some food, but I decided to eat it only after we finish the dungeon.
"There should be seven more monsters," Nate said suddenly, snapping me out of my thoughts. Abram nodded and we all headed in the direction Nate had guided us.
____
It didn't take long before we ran into those like goblins monsters. They all looked the same to me. We stood in the designated positions and attacked before they noticed us. I again used my skill and approached them from behind. Since Nate and Abram were attacking from the front, these monsters didn't even think that the attack could come from behind.
I quickly thrust a dagger through two of their necks, and after a few twists, their heads separated from their bodies and fell to the ground. The monsters turned to me but before they could do something, they were hit by Nate's spell, which threw them into the nearest wall, successfully killing them. I killed another one and the fight was over. Abram and Isaiah took care of the two who separated from the group at the beginning. I received another 60 EP.
"Everyone is whole?" the team leader asked us, to which everyone nodded. My MP was poor, but it should be enough to fight the boss.
"Okay, how about we move to the boss room. Does everyone remember their role?" the team leader asked us, to which everyone nodded again. Not much has changed from the formation we normally used in battle. Isaiah is first as a tank and takes care of the defense and will also protect Nate, Abram will attack from close range and slowly weaken the boss until Nate prepares a powerful spell, Nate is in charge of attacking from a distance and I will attack from the shadows with unexpected attacks.
"The boss room is about fifteen minutes away" Nate said and we all headed down another corridor to the boss room.
____
In the meantime, I was wondering what the boss would look like. As a D-Rank monster, it should be of average size. And it should have one of the four basic elements as a weapon. And my skills were poor. The only skill I used so far was Shadow walk, I haven't tried Animal shapeshift yet which I certainly wasn't planning to try it in the dungeon. There will be time for that after dungeon raid or if I have no other choice. And I didn't have any attack skill, maybe it would be good if I made one, we still had time before we get to the boss room. And I already had an idea of what my first attack skill should look like. So I opened my window, found the window under the Skill: breakdown, and started tapping my idea.

The same thing happened again when I made my first skill. It wasn't difficult. I honestly did not understand that if it is so easy to create your own skill, why more players do not created their skills and why it is not popular.

I nodded contentedly and closed my character window again.
"We're here" Nate said quietly as he stopped in front of a large metal door. They were maybe a little over three meters tall and looked heavy. Abram, our team leader, nodded and we all got ready. Now we face the hardest fight.
