3 Quest

After rejecting my sub-class selection I suddenly was teleported to a spooky ancient village.

I didn't even look around before opening my Status panel.

Looking over my Status hologram, I nodded in satisfaction.

As I had not chosen a sub-class, my current attributes were very balanced and I only possessed one spell, <Darkness Blast>, which came with my Mage Class.

If I had chosen a sub-class, I would have received another spell, either a <Poisonous Curse> or a <Darkness Shield>, depending on which sub-class I've picked.

After examining my status, I lifted my eyes and began walking north.

I didn't bother looking around, meandering through the creepy ancient village, as my purpose was to gain power as quickly as possible.

I knew that there was a demon NPC located on the outskirts of the village who would give me a quest to eliminate 5 Salamanders.

One of the potential rewards for completing this quest was a <Salamander Ring>, which would increase my magical damage by 2%.

Although the boost may not seem significant, this Platinum-tier equipment was unobtainable later on in the game.

Unfortunately, the chance of obtaining the ring was low, only a few players managed to acquire it, making it an extremely rare item.

I had only obtained this information from another player, who provided it to me for a small cost.

This was also after it had become impossible to obtain the <Salamander Ring> through normal means, so the information was pretty much useless at that time.

Tap... Tap...

As I approached the edge of the village, I noticed a group of people gathering around an old wooden house.

There was also an elderly demon leaning against its wall, observing the crowd with a discerning gaze.

Not wasting any time, I quickly made my way toward him and initiated a conversation.

[ Fragmental allows multiple people to interact with the NPC at the same time ]

Approaching, I slightly bowed my head and lowered my horns as a sign of respect to the elder.

Each race had its own unique traditions; elves nodded their heads, humans shook hands, and demons slightly bowed their horns.

The level of a demon's power could be identified by the detail of their horns, and as a new player, I had only two small horns with no fancy details.

"You have good manners, young one"

As I lifted my head, the old demon spoke with a tinge of interest in his red fiery eyes.

"My name Is John. I've been living in this village for my entire life..."

John kept on babbling about his life for another few minutes.

It was very boring, but I managed to keep my face straight until he finally mentioned the quest involving the Salamanders.

"Could you help this old man to kill a few Salamanders? They've been trampling my crops for ages!"

< Help John To Eliminate 5 Salamanders! >

< Do you want to accept the quest? >

Looking at the azure hologram that appeared before my eyes, I quickly accepted the quest and made my way through the crowd of people, opening my map along the way.

Quests usually pinpointed the location of the enemies on the map and this time was no exception.

Just a little further north, there was a red dot on the map, it was located within a lush greenery called, the Dark Forest.

It was the location of the Salamander Nest.

Click...

Closing the hologram with the map I began to walk toward it.

The closer I got to the forest the more players I saw and after some time I even started seeing some players fighting against red-scaled lizards the size of a hound.

While walking I also didn't forget to equip the starting items I've been given.

Looking at my attributes I also began to assign extra SP points I had.

In the end, I decided to put all my SP into the INT Stat.

I needed to raise my damage, so I could one-shot the Salamanders.

Suddenly, a monster appeared in between the tall grass, flicking its forked tongue.

It had red scales that covered its entire body and dull yellow eyes that glowed with a fiery intensity.

Luckily, looking at its features I noticed that the salamander wasn't Elite.

Elite monsters have a chance to spawn randomly and have no specific location or time to spawn.

They are also noticeably stronger than normal monsters.

Pressing my lips together, I inspected the Salamander, taking a peek at its Status window.

Overlooking its Attributes, I instantly took a couple of steps back. Its Physical capabilities were higher than mine, so keeping a safe distance would be crucial to avoid getting hit by the Salamander's attacks.

I didn't even waste a second before starting to cast a Darkness Blast.

However, the lizard also noticed me conjuring a Spell and leaped at me but it was a tad too slow.

3️⃣ Fiery meat x4

Luckily, a single spell was enough to take down the monster and secure my victory.

A table of loot also dropped and I smiled seeing it go straight into my inventory and walked deeper into the forest.

The spawn rate of the Salamanders increases in the dark places and the forest overgrown with tall trees creates a perfect environment for them to appear.

Swish...

Climbing in one of the trees I sat on a sturdy branch and started waiting for the monsters to spawn.

Luckily, I didn't need to wait for long, because soon light particles started gathering in one place and another Salamander appeared.

I didn't even hesitate, creating another Darkness blast and throwing it toward the newly spawned monster.

Seeing that the monster had died, I descended down the tree intending to retrieve my loot.

However, as I was about to land on the ground another Salamander leaped at me from behind, making my eyes widen in surprise.

Landing on the ground, I instantly reacted, conjuring another spell that hit the monster straight in the face.

A damage number appeared above the creature's head, however, to my surprise the Salamander didn't die.

Wanting to investigate I inspected its Status and my eyes slightly widened.
