Chapter 20 - One Soul In Two Bodies

Valdez, who had been worried from the start, started to panic when he saw Abigail lying on the ground. In addition, he was confused when he found out there was a man beside Abigail.

"Abigail?! Abigail?! Are you alright?!" Valdez shouted from afar.

Valdez couldn't do anything but scream as loud as he could at Abigail. That can happen since he wasn't allowed to enter the shrine of the Gods and Goddesses he didn't worship.

After Valdez shouted for a while, he was relieved when he saw Abigail begin to regain her sense. However, he was also worried because the man next to Abigail also regain his sense.

"Abigail! Get out of there quickly! That man might be dangerous!" Valdez shouted as loud as he could.

"Ugh... so annoying," Alex thought. "What did Valdez mean to yell at me like that?"

"He's not yelling at you, but he's yelling at me," a woman's voice echoed in Alex's mind.

"You? Who are you?" Alex asked.

"I am you, and you are me, we are one soul in two bodies," the woman said.

Hearing those words, Alex was confused until he saw the figure of someone familiar to him. A figure of a woman who was his crush in his previous life.

"Abigail?" Alex said accidentally.

The woman smiled and then she said, "Yeah? Is there anything wrong with my face?"

Alex became more and more confused by what he was experiencing until he thought what he was experiencing was a dream from the start.

"Is it a dream?" Alex thought.

"No, you're wrong, this isn't a dream," Abigail's voice echoed within Alex's mind again.

"Then what is this?" he asked.

As soon as Alex said that, Abigail immediately stood up and approached Alex.

"Didn't I tell you? We're one soul in two bodies," Abigail said.

"Yes you tell me, but I don't know what it means," Alex said.

Suddenly information entered Alex's mind and made him know what was really going on.

"So you're my unlimited knowledge skill?" Alex asked. "Then you're asking me to refer to you as Abigail?"

"Yes," Abigail answered. "That's the best solution so you don't get confused."

"But how did you manifest yourself as Abigail?" Alex asked.

"It doesn't matter right now, I'll tell you about that some other time," Abigail answered

After that brief conversation, the atmosphere between them become quiet even though Valdez kept shouting at them from afar.

"Abigail! Quickly come here!" Valdez shouted.

"Let's go to Valdez, and let's make up a fake story for Valdez to believe," Abigail said.

"Why? I don't think there's any point in doing that," Valdez said. "Shouldn't we just leave him alone?"

"No, we must maintain a connection with him because he is the crown prince of Inarania," Abigail said. "We can get a lot of benefits from him because of that, moreover it seems like he had fallen in love with this form."

Without saying anything else, Alex stood up and then walked with Abigail to meet Valdez. As soon as they arrived before Valdez, Valdez immediately grabbed Abigail's hand and hugged her tightly.

"Who are you?! What are you aiming for?! I can't remember if there was someone other than Abigail in there," Valdez said as he pointed at Alex.

"I-"

Before Alex could say anything, Abigail suddenly signaled him to remain silent.

"Valdez, listen to me," Abigail said.

Hearing Abigail's words, Valdez calmed down a bit and immediately turned his attention to Abigail.

"This man with me is a messenger from the Goddess of Beauty," Abigail said. "He was sent to me as a guardian for me."

"Is that true?" Valdez asked as he looked at Alex.

Alex looked at Abigail, and Abigail signaled him to follow what she said.

"Yes, that's right," Alex said. "And my name is Alex, nice to meet you."

Knowing about that, Valdez couldn't do anything because he couldn't possibly go against the will of the Goddess of Beauty who sent Alex to Abigail as a guardian.

However, suddenly a crazy idea crossed Valdez's mind.

"Okay, I believe that the Goddess of Beauty sent you to Abigail as a guardian," Valdez said. "But I need to ensure that you will become a guardian who will be able to protect Abigail from anything that will harm her."

"So?" Alex said.

"Spar with me," Valdez said.

Hearing this, Alex suddenly became confused because the level difference between him and Valdez was too far. Alex felt that it was impossible for him to win against Valdez.

"You can," Abigail's voice echoed within Alex's mind. "With your current skills, you can definitely do it."

Convinced by Abigail, Alex felt that he could do the thing that he felt would kill him.

"Okay, let's do it," Alex said as he looked at Valdez with a smile.

"Alright, then let's return to the royal palace and go straight to the training field," Valdez said as he turned around and brought Abigail with him.

Valdez and Abigail walked followed by Alex to the teleport device they used to teleport to the Shrine of the Gods and Goddesses.

As soon as they entered the teleport device, a barrier dome appeared and covered them.

"Where do you want to go?" Eva asked.

"We want to go to the royal palace," Valdez said.

"I'm sorry, but that's impossible unless you have a member of the royal family with you," Eva said.

Valdez took off his shirt and immediately showed the birthmark on his back.

"All right, request accepted, pardon my impudence, his highness the crown prince," Eva said.

As soon as Eva said that, the area around them distorted and turned into the teleportation device that was in the royal palace.

"You don't feel nauseous, do you, Abigail?" Valdez asked Abigail. "If you feel nauseous, tell me immediately, and I will quickly find a way to cure it."

"I don't feel nauseous, and I appreciate your kindness," Abigail said. "Oh, and don't forget to put on your clothes."

Hearing what Abigail said made Valdez's face flush with embarrassment and he immediately put on his clothes back.

Valdez looked at Alex with a sneer and then he said, "Follow me, we will be sparring in the training field.
