Chapter 5: The Diary!

Since the diary didn't ask Aakesh to choose a specific city, he requested Urvashi to transfer him randomly.

Ikshvaku was the name of a legendary King of ancient India, and Aakesh always loved hearing about ancient Indian history. Hence, he took his game name from that legendary King.

Before Aakesh could respond, a white light covered Aakesh. When the light returned to Aakesh's eye, he found himself in a crowded street.

The game's website had clearly said that the game appearance would be the same as the actual physical appearance, so Aakesh found himself with the same tiny bulge in his stomach.

"I am here," Aakesh mumbled under his breath and clenched his fist.

To open his status panel, he first needed to clear a quest. The quest could be anything, and since Aakesh didn't want to do anything in a hurry, he decided to first learn about this place.

Aakesh had only taken a step when he suddenly felt his surroundings changing.

Aakesh looked around himself in shock as his surroundings stabilized.

All around Aakesh, book pages were flying around. Aakesh noticed that there was something written on it, but when he tried to see what it was, he found nothing.

The next moment, the pages stopped floating around, but they began to join together, forming a book in the end.

A surprised expression appeared on Aakesh's face as the book floating in front of him was none other than the diary left by Manish, his younger brother.

An intuition of touching the diary emerged in Aakesh's heart. He didn't stop himself and raised his hands.

Aakesh had only touched the diary with the tip of his finger when it began to disperse into light particles. The particles didn't fly randomly, but they all began to melt into Aakesh's extended finger.

[Congratulation, Adventurer!]

The next moment, a couple of alerts rang inside Aakesh's head. Aakesh was in no mood to hear about them as he was looking at the floating blue window in front of him.

The blue window contained the details of the diary left by Aakesh. His jaws were wide open as he only now found out that the diary was a game item.

After reading the screen, Aakesh finally understood why Manish hadn't talked about the future in the diary. He only needed to enter the game to check them.

Aakesh's eyes turned determined as he waved his hands. The next moment, the surroundings cracked into nothingness, and Aakesh found himself back on the street with his right foot raised in the air.

Even though Aakesh hadn't played any MMORPGs before this, he still knew that the information about his location would automatically appear in his mind once he appeared here. But in this game, Aakesh had no idea where he was, making it seem as though he was in the real world and had to fend for himself.

"Damn it, what shitty manufacturer made this game?"

Aakesh wasn't the only one complaining; there were many like him. If they have to fend for themselves, like in the real world, then what was the point of playing games in the first place?

The only thing keeping other gamers from logging out was the graphics. Even those who owned watches couldn't distinguish between reality and the game world.

Like every other gamer, Aakesh appeared in this place with a gray shirt and trousers. In his shirt pocket, ten copper coins were there.

Aakesh used the basic appraisal skill every other gamer got and checked the details of his clothes.

Time flew by.

After looking here and there, Aakesh finally found the name of the place he was in.

It was Wolf Town of Yellow City. Yellow City was one of the top cities of the Radison Kingdom.

Since it was a Kingdom specifically for Indians, Aakesh could see modern houses like he had seen in reality all around him.

After finding the basic information about the city and town, Aakesh began searching for quests.

The difficulty of the first quest didn't matter as they only unlocked the status screen and began the leveling journey. But there were some exceptions to that rule. Some quests rewarded extra attributes after completing them, giving some extra edge over those who didn't gain anything.

Since Aakesh had come here for Manish, he decided to trust him and check if the diary had any first quest for him.

Aakesh needed to take as much advantage of the diary as possible in the early phases so that when both worlds merged, he wouldn't face the same outcome as his brother.

Making his decision, Aakesh hurried toward the forest. He didn't know what would happen with the diary, so he needed to stay as far away from other lives as possible.

The next moment, he summoned the item, and not long after, it appeared in his hands. It looked the same as the diary.

Aakesh took a deep breath and opened the first page. As Aakesh had expected, a quest was waiting there for him. At the end of the page, a small window was present, asking him whether he wanted to accept the quest or not.

Aakesh read it and decided to turn the page over to see if there were other quests. But when he tried, the page refused to budge.

Aakesh stopped trying since he understood that he had only this quest to complete and that it still wasn't time for the next page to open.

Since there were no other quests, Aakesh tapped on the small window, and the next moment, a screen containing the details appeared in front of him.

System: Unique Quest "Manish's Request" accepted.

Quest Details: Find the 'Ring of Abundance'. It must be Adventure's first quest.

As Aakesh accepted the quest, the last sighting of the ring appeared in his mind. After finding out about the town, a map of the town automatically appeared in his mind. Following the direction, Aakesh turned around and headed toward it.
