Chapter 1 - Section 1 - Adventurers Guild

After a short walk from the inn there was the imposing edifice that is the Capital of Mire's adventurer guild, outside groups of various people all fully equipped with hide or plate armor and armed with all manner of weapons stood all conversing amongst themselves never giving a second glance to a greenhorn like me.

Walking inside the building was separated into three sections, on the left was a series of kiosk windows, those lined up were holding animal corpses, so it must be somewhere to turn-in animals cited for termination, on the right was a series of bulletin boards crowds surrounding them pulling off leaflets, this must be the job boards for adventurers, and right down the center was a series of desk manned by employee's of the guild dressed in casual business attire.

Walking straight up to the desk with a young woman standing there.

"Ex.. Excuse me, I'd like to register if I could, and also to place a request" <Kokei>

"A request, is it? Well depending on what it is, we should deal with it first since it'll take the most time, and then do your registration afterwards" <Guild Girl>

"Well I'd like to place a personal request actually for a Party called the <Marked Wolves> I'd like to hire them for an escort mission" <Kokei>

"Marked Wolves" <Guild Girl>

Exclaimed drawing back a bit.

"Are you sure!? They might be C-Rank but they have a terrible success rate if what their escorting is important to you surely another team would be far better" <Guild Girl>

"Even still they are the party I've chosen to undertake this task for me" <Kokei>

"I.. is that so" <Guild Girl>

Cracking a wry smile she dropped all hesitation

"Alright then last thing would be to tell me what you're willing to offer then in exchange for the job, then with your registration theirs a 5 silver coin charge" <Guild Girl>

Pulling the required funds from my pouch I placed 5 silver on the counter.

[Sigh... all I've got leftover now are the handful of coppers, guess it's a good thing i planned to take some small jobs to pass the time]

"I'll need to discuss with the party themselves about what they'd charge since it'll be up to them how far along the journey they wish to go." <Kokei>

"That's acceptable, we'll reach out to them for you with the conditions the job is open to negotiation, now where are they escorting to?" <Guild Girl>

"The job will be going to Stata" <Kokei>

"Alright that should be enough information for the request I will get this off for notification, one moment" <Guild Girl>

She headed off handing a scroll over to a younger boy who took off running out of the guild.

"Ok next is your registration please fill out this form, afterwards we'll issue your guild card" <Guild Girl>

The form was pretty straight forward, asking for just name, race, age primary weapon and any skills you'd want known.

Looking at it this form is just asking for someone to lie from what I've learned thanks to the <Marked Wolves> only summoned heroes have Appraisal skills, and magical items that can perform appraisals are extremely rare like the Oracle stone used by the Cathedral.

No point lying though so I filled out the form, but left the skills section blank. Handing the filled out form back, the guild rep took it and placed it between two metal plates before placing an onyx index card atop them all.

A glow of blue emanated from an orb floating in the air before descending and centering on the onyx card sandwiched between the plates before dissipating.

"Alright well with that welcome to the guild Mr. Kokei" <Guild Girl>

Stating so as she handed the card over to me.

"Thank you, now I guess since I'm in the guild can I ask some questions?" <Kokei>

"No worries we give a quick rundown for all new entrants" <Guild Girl>

The summary I got was pretty straightforward;

Ranks are G-SSS (SSS-SS-S-A-B-C-D-E-F-G)

[G Ranks are newbie's given Onyx Guild Cards and must complete at least 1 quest per week lest their membership expire]

To gain ranks you must obtain points, each job is assigned a point value once you pass C-Rank after obtaining the required points there are exams to pass since B ranks and above deal with Nobles, and Countries directly

[F-E-D Ranks are low-ranked dealing in low risk exterminations and simple escorts at least 1 job every 3 months]

[C-B-A Ranks are mid-ranked dealing in most if not all difficult quests at least 1 job every 6 months]

[Then come to S ranks, these are the pinnacle dealing in Calamity, Catastrophe, and National grade threats, so few ever reach this rank at present only 7 are known to exist in the world, and only one of these 7 are SSS rank]

The guild offers butchering services for beasts, along with purchasing of any materials and goods confiscated or recovered from bandits, or those creatures from subjugation requests.

The Guild card acts as ID allow those of significant rank special privileges within countries or exemption from taxation, and the higher your rank the better treatment you'll receive, S ranks are treated like nobles, and the SSS is a national treasure.

Wrapping up the rest was just general legalities that expulsion can occur for illegal acts within any country, similar expulsion is compulsory if you even belong to the Dark Guild.

"And with that explanation you are now formally a G rank within the guild the job postings can be seen over on the board there, and you may turn in any request you complete to any guild branch, if you should have your guild card expire you may reregister at any branch however it will cost you 5 silver to do it, have it expire multiple times will call into question your standing and may result in your barring from applying again" <Guild Girl>

"Thank you very much; I have some things to do in town, I'll check back later to see if the Marked Wolves accept by request" <Kokei>

"Oh no need for that, I'll send a runner to you when we hear from them" <Guild Girl>

"How would they know where to find me though…" <Kokei>

"Oh right your guild card can act as a tracker for the guild" <Guild Girl>

"uhhh" <Kokei>

"Oh don't worry, if you don't want to be found you can turn it off just press your thumb onto the guild logo in the top corner, the tracking feature will remain off until you choose to activate the tracker once again" <Guild Girl>

"Got it thank you so much" <Kokei>
