part 3.2

The screen cut to a close-up of Twilight, who smiles warmly at this show of dedication. At the start of the next line, one gold-shod hoof lands on her shoulder and the camera zooms out to frame Celestia alongside.

"I'm afraid I can't let you go", said Celestia.

That news shocks all around.

"What?!?" asked Rainbow, stomping her hoof. "Why not?"

"Sending all of you could upset the balance of this alternate world…" said Celestia.

The screen cut to a slow pan across the other five.

"…creating havoc that would make it impossible for Twilight to get the crown back from Sunset Shimmer", said Celestia.

 Back to Twilight and Celestia.

"This is something Princess Twilight must do alone", said Celestia.

"Time is of the essence. On the third day, when the moon reaches its peak in the night sky…" said Luna.

At the end of this, the camera tilts up from her to an image she has conjured up: the moon slowly shifting position in said sky as the shadow covering most of its surface moves to leave only a ring of light around the periphery. It covers one of the three stars, flaring up brightly ,and the shadow fades away.

"…the gateway will close. And once it does…" said Luna.

Overhead view of the entire group; the picture vanishes.

"…it will be another thirty moons before you will be able to use it to return", said Luna.

Twilight moves toward the portal as the other five voices assorted words of support. One light violet hoof touches the surface in extreme close-up; in a longer shot, she pulls it away from the simmering magic and looks back over her shoulder. A gentle but firm nod from her mentor gives her the steel she needs to make herself step through and disappear from sight. Spike, though, gives in to his nerves and races through the knot of ponies, too fast even for Applejack to intercept.

I followed Spike with lots of speed.

"SPIKE, KANISHA! NO!!" yelled the mane 5.

Spike perspective on this second word, barreling toward the glass and making contact in a flare of white that fills the screen. Fade into a tunnel of pastel-colored streaks flashing past the came Twilight, Spike, and I tumble screaming into view and toward the far end, their bodies elongating to an impossible degree as if made of taffy. After both have disappeared into the brightness at that far end, the view snaps to black.

The darkness splits lengthwise and parts slowly as if it were an eye blinking open; the view, slightly out of focus, is that of a ladybug crossing a patch of cement. Twilight's weary moan is heard, marking this as her perspective.

"Uh, Twilight?" said Spike.

Twilight's vision begins to clear.

"Huh?" asked Twilight, and looked to her right. "Spike?"

Twilight focusing blink is followed by the approach of a light violet dog with light yellow-green underbelly and darker, floppy ears that strongly resemble his normal bat-wing ones. Around his neck is a blue studded collar with a gold tag marked by a pink heart; on the next line, she lifts her head slightly to take in the changed face, which still has his original green eyes.

"You're not supposed to…" said Twilight.

Her eyes shift to his paws, then ears and tail. A few pale spots mark his rear end.

"Spike?" asked Twilight.

Back to Spike's face.

 "Are you a…" said Twilight.

The screen shows Twilight Sparkle, then zoom out to frame all of Spike.

" …dog?" Twilight figures out.

Yes indeed; he even has a tuft of green fur on top of his head to resemble the spines that grow up there. He is standing on a sidewalk in a typical-looking suburban neighborhood during the day. The ladybug is crawling past him, and he circles in place, trying to chase his tail.

"I think so, but…I have no idea what you are!" replied Spike, hesitantly, wagging it.

Two light violet hands are raised into view just in front of the camera, their outlines slightly blurred for the moment. The focus shifts to them as she turns them about.

"Huh?" asked Twilight.

The screen cut to an extreme close-up of a mouth screaming with her voice and zoom out. The figure using that voice is that of a teenage girl, with Twilight's purple eyes and long, straight, dark blue hair that bears one streak each of dark violet and deep pink. One lock hangs down in front of each ear. She is dressed in a light blue, short-sleeved blouse with a pink bow at the collar, a pleated purple skirt bearing her cutie mark, purple argyle-patterned boots with pink leg-warmer tops and dark gray/black toes and soles, and the straps of a blue backpack run over her shoulders.

I turn to Twilight, and help her up.

I have long curly orange hair, yellow skin wearing a white headband,short-sleeved light orange blouse, a skirt with my cutie mark: a book with three hearts around it, orange boots with white leg warmers tops and dark soles, and a purse over my shoulder.
