Doubt

Alucard and Granger just dispatched the demon hunter group for tonight. Granger felt an urge to look for Selena. He went to Selena's room when he heard some voices inside.

"Hey, demon." Selena's voice.

Demon?

Granger's heartbeat is starting to beat faster. The familiar weird feeling that he had when he first met her is surfacing again. He calmed himself and tried to listen more.

"Why do you think humans have so much affection towards the feeling of superiority among other beings?"

Humans? Other beings? Why does she speak of humans objectively?

Granger's mind is being filled with questions but he still remained composed and listen further.

"I don't know, my child." He heard an unfamiliar voice.

Who's she talking to? Is it a demon? Granger thought. No. That's impossible. He shooked his head.

"Because that's just how ugly humans are. They aren't capable of satisfaction for what they already have. Scums!" Selena blurted out with disgust.

Confusion is clearly shown in Granger's face. He wonders at the back of his mind why is Selena saying those words. Regardless, he composed himself and knocked on her door. "Selena?" He called her.

There is no response for a moment but then the door opened and Selena peeked her head out. "Oh! Granger, what brings you here?" Selena said wearing her usual smile.

Granger sighed of relief at the sight of the sweet and gentle lady. "Uhm, I- well- I'm just wondering if you're alright?"

Selena giggled. "I like your cute expression Granger." Granger blushed from embarassment. Selena winked. "I'm alright though. Do you need something?"

Granger's expression soften. "Uh no. I just thought you might be uncomfortable since it's your first night here in the temple."

Selena's expression went blank. "Actually-" She paused for a moment. "I'm quite uncomfortable really." She looked down hiding her shy expression from him.

He stares at the shy girl in front of him playing with her fingers. It makes his heart flutter seeing a new side of the lady he met earlier who's personality is a teaser. Granger unconsciously reaches for Selena's face and motioned her face to face his. He stared at her face for a few minutes and pulled her head to his chest.

Selena was shocked from his sudden gesture and buries her face to his chest to hide her embarassment and happiness at the same time. Granger suddenly realized what he just did but couldn't push Selena away, so he hides his blushing face from her by burying her face to his chest. They stayed at that position for a while until Selena broke free from him.

Granger touched his nape and looked away. "Uh, so, goodnight." He motioned to leave but Selena pulled the hem of his shirt.

He looked back at her. "U-u-umm, c-can you stay longer?" Selena asked shyly.

Granger smiled and followed her inside her room. "I'm sorry for what I did earlier. I thought it would make you feel better." He sat at the chair by the table.

Selena giggled. "It was bold of you to do that to a lady mister Granger." Selena teased him.

"W-what?!" Granger raises his voice but lowered it down instantly. Granger smirks from their bickering. The heavy tension they have earlier are gone. They are much more comfortable with each other like they are from morning.
