Lothur's bloodline ability worked by absorbing the vitality of his targets related to those beings' Constitution. But demons' unique regeneration and abnormal resistance were related to a hereditary ability, not to their bodily capabilities.

Lothur did not know this, but he more or less realized such a thing when he finished absorbing those EVF points.
