Three days prior to her wedding, Olivia finds her betrothed in the company of her step-cousin. On the outside, he is known as the son of a General. But no one knows the mystery that surrounds him and the entanglement with the Princess. Reginald was actually tasked from beginning to keep Olivia safe. But from what danger? Was fate actually playing a role in bringing these two people with different stories and mysteries together? **** EXCERPT "It means you're not remorseful." Her mind started to work in strange angles as a smirk graced her face. "Olivia..." Reginald spoke in a tired voice. This was not what he wanted from the beginning. He wanted them to solve things and now they were heading back to square one. "Don't mention my name in that manner." She slammed her eyes shut for a second before opening them. This was because she started to feel confused. "Olivia!" Reginald called out again, this time with great force that said he wanted her to focus on what they were talking about. "Please don't —" "Tell me what I did." "You're in love with another woman! I caught you hugging her in that room, Reginald!"

No choice

— Moments before her nightmares —

As the carriage kept going forward, Olivia started to feel fatigue. She didn't know why she started to feel sleepy after some minutes, maybe it was the aftermath of the arousal serum.

Before she knew it, her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she blacked out. She was originally sitting beside Reginald in the lantern-lit carriage. And now, her head fell on his laps while her breathing pace became shallow.

Reginald stared at the head on his laps with a void expression, while his dark eyes looked like pools of darkness wanting to suck her beauty in.

At the same time, his body stilled because her body temperature seemed lower than usual. It made his large hand move to her forehead out of reflex.

When his warm palm sensed her escalating drop in temperature, terror flashed in his eyes.

"Princess!" He called out, trying his best not to let this strange emotion reflect on his voice.
