Being betrayed or even being kept in the dark, Xael was never fond of those kinds of situation. After continuous transmigration, Marshell was considered the very first person that she has been comfortable with that was outside of her mission.

She didn't know whether to be resentful to herself as she has again fall into a child's deception.

Xael wanted to stay quiet and let the other person talk with air but the moment she looked upon Marshell's eyes, a strange force kept on gnawing her heart.

Without thinking, Xael spoke. "How did you know about these things? This is confidential information."

After asking, Xael wanted to slap her mouth so much, it was as if it has a mind of its own.

Xael was actually planning on keeping her low profile and kept about the incident in the orphanage. This was due to her computation that her true self being revealed in a wrong timing would lessen the impact when she decided to get things done with Charles.

Marshell's voice then turned into his neutral mode before easily throwing the words he considers as an answer. "I'm an orphan from that orphanage, when I got back to handle some issues, I've heard about the sudden attacking. And about the person who I've heard this from, it's Father Ryuu."

It was a straight lace answer, for short, scripted.

Hearing his answer didn't put anger on Xael but actually the opposite. Even though what Marshell said was a carbon copy of his immeasurable practices, it was not filled with lies.

Charles was now almost having his mouth gapping wide. What he heard, he was definitely sure that it was about the barbarian's attack last month.

Unconsciously, Charles has leaned forward to hear more clearly as his position was not helping him out on the situation.

But who would have thought that doing that, his movement has sent alertness to Xael who was laughing in her head. Her mood was cut short and jump into her serious state.

She secretly feel up the presence of any human being that is at least 200 meters wide before noticing two people that was clearly there to eavesdrop.

As she finished confirming their identities, an evil and sly idea entered her head. Since the timing was now broken, then set another one.

Xael laughed out loud, a laugh that was not high spirited but full of mixed battered feelings.

When Marshell heard her laugh, he was suddenly in panic. He didn't know why it was sending a disturbing feeling to his heart, but the instant he looked up; Xael's hurting expression welcomed him.

She continued to laugh and laugh until 'unwanted' tears drop to her cheeks. Not minding it, Xael continued to do so as she kept on hugging her stomach as though something funny happened.

"Did you know? I don't know if I'll go crazy thinking that they were in danger. I was so relief that it became one of the most treasured memories I have. I was really happy when I'm assured that the kids were safe and sound." Xael laughed again before continuing. "But the one that would actually drive me crazy was waiting for me at home, that was the day the person I promised to devote my whole life to made me feel like I was the dirtiest person he ever seen. Isn't that funny?"

Xael now faked short of breathe, she kept acting as someone on the verge of breaking.

"I... I just want to be with the person I love. I loved Charles so much that I'm here thinking that if I came here, he might realize that this is not over. That my love is worth trusting for. I... I..."

Lost in words, Xael was wiping her tears as she once again tries to laugh. Before she could speak again, a warm embrace met her feminine stature.

"I'm sorry," Marshell said. Xael was ready to counter him and pushed him away when he spoke again. "I'm sorry that I let you be hurt. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not telling you who I am. I'm sorry that I can't support you on chasing him."

As Marshell said those words, he ripped off his masked unveiling his familiar perfect face. "Xael, I'm sorry."

A pause fell on them before Xael jump on the chance. She softly stretched out her hands caressing the spot in Marshell's face as it slid down on his cheek.

"Marshell," As Xael said those words, Marshell was not able to stop his self and his lips met hers.

At first she wanted to break away from him but as her hands slipped down falling in her side. Her previous questions have been answered.

Tears went uncontrollable.

She just let him to kiss her. She can't tell him no because that was his rights. Talk about a joke, she was craving for him; his smile, his touch, and his everything.

The kiss was not chaste; it was sweet and born out of passion. She was not in the rushed, no, her excitement and happiness was bursting out of her heart.

In truth, she wanted to hug him and tell him how much he loves him. She was doing her best to keep herself on the track. The kiss lasted for only a few second before Marshell leaned away.

"Xael, I love you. Please, forget about him and love me."

Marshell smiled before slowly, he bends his knees as he kneels on the ground. He held her hand kissing the tip of her finger, squeezing it before pressing his lips on her hand.

"I did promise to serve the country but I vow to love you. I'll love you and I'll wait until you can love me back. No matter how long it takes, I'll wait."

Hearing those words, Xael's smile bloomed into a sunny and genuine one. The unstoppable beating of her heart made her say the thing that would make Marshell fall in love with her again.

"I'll believe you, so please take good care of my heart."
