Chapter 1

Lin Yun Xi closed her eyes and anxiously complained to herself that she shouldn't have taken the bus, she shouldn't have taken the bus. Despite wearing a hoodie which she closed tightly around her head it only blocked so much sound. And while closing her eyes blocked out her sense of sight she couldn't do anything about her sense of smell which was constantly bombarding her mind with useless information. She began to rock back and forth which tends to calm her down, but in this sort of situation it didn't help much at all.

Suddenly, the bus stopped and everyone who was standing leaned side to side like a wave, some bouncing into her. Her senses of touch was now also bombarded with useless information.

She tried to focus on other things as someone bumped into her back and she almost fell over. Then she heard something fall onto the floor, it was so loud it sounded like a two-ton block of concrete was released by a crane in a basement. She had to open her eyes and see what happened.

On the floor by her feet she saw a square-looking leather wallet, it was black and looked rather luxurious. However, her mind was busy following the texture of the leather which looked like rivers and valleys. She bent down and picked up the wallet and opened it. She found an identity card in the window portion. The young man in the picture was handsome though she was incapable of determining looks as her mind only saw details, like his name, social security number, and the 65234 strands of his black hair which was visible from the angle the camera had shot the picture.

'Ah! It's him.' She bit her her lower lip as she remembered the young man in black hoodie and black sweatpants. He had carried a black backpack over his shoulder. It was the young man who had stood 2.3 meters away from her on the bus. She looked up and looked over but he was missing. She frowned, as she thought back, then she remembered someone bumping into her before. Remembering the feeling she realized it must've been his backpack bouncing into her as he turned and exited the bus.

She hurriedly turned around and pushed herself through the crowd and exited the bus. Once out on the street her senses was once again overwhelmed by useless information. She tried to concentrate and filter through them, then she found him. He had just entered a building. The sign outside read, 'The Golden Lotus'. She remembered, it was a restaurant. She had learned that information one day when she casually read through the yellow pages in a phone book.

She hurried over and opened the door. Her sense of smell was now bombarded with thousands of different smells of food. She instantly knew all of the ingredients this restaurant used in their food. Despite it not giving her a pleasent feeling, her stomach still growled. Once again she had to filter through a bunch of useless details until she finally found him. He'd just entered a private room.

Mo Luhan leisurely strolled into the private room of the restaurant and walked around the big round table and flopped down on a chair.

His mother, Su Wang, looked around curiously but didn't find what she was looking for. "Where is she?" She asked looking at her son.

Mo Luhan's right eye twitched a little. He'd arranged for one of his friends to find a girl to accompany him to this restaurant to pretend to be his girlfriend to avoid his mother's constant badgering. His mother was already looking for a fiance for him, and while presenting a "girlfriend" probably wouldn't stop her, at least it would annoy her, which was good enough. However, just a few minutes ago he received a text from his friend saying he'd just woken up with the world's worst hangover and completely forgot his task. Well, not entirely as the girl he had arranged was currently sleeping next to him.

Mo Luhan ignored his mother and leaned over and grabbed the glass of water by his seat and took a few sips before he leaned back and scrolled through his messages on his phone.

Su Wang clenched her fist underneath the table. She was so frustrated at her son. She couldn't understand why her son became so defensive everytime she brought up his future marriage and tried to introduce a few girls to him. He had reached the perfect age and had long ago cemented his position within their family's business, simply put it was the perfect time for him to settle down and get married and produce some adorable grandchildren for her.

A quiet knock on the door suddenly interrupted their thoughts, before it slowly opened.

Mo Luhan and Su Wang looked up and saw a small, shy, young girl enter the room. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a gray hoodie which only showed her pretty face and hid her long black hair.

Lin Yun Xi was stunned for a moment as her mind was busy filtering through the useless noise. There was a big round table, twelve chairs, twelve dishes, three large windows. The first dish had five ingredients, the second dish...

Then finally her eyes locked onto the young handsome man who was sitting on the other side of the round table facing her. She immediately knew how many strands of hair he had on his head, including his eyebrows and eyelashes. By her count, she judged that this should be counted as having thick hair.

When the young man looked up from his phone and their eyes met, an explosion occurred in her mind and everything turned into a jumbled mess. She couldn't form a single strand of thought and had completely forgot why she was here. Her heart pounced against the inside of her chest as if someone repeatedly hit her with a sledgehammer. Her face instantly blushed, acting all on its own as if it wasn't aware its owner wasn't thinking about his attractiveness at all.

She was so dazed she didn't hear Su Wang asking who she was and what she wanted, nor did she notice the young man standing up and walking over to her.

Only once she felt him wrap an arm around her shoulder which brought her head to his chest, where she could hear his soothing heartbeat, did her mind begin to calm down.

But just as the static noise in her mind quieted down she heard him say, "This is my girlfriend."
