Chapter 34: It's Not Easy Being A Star

POV: Celestina Aurora

As I sat down from my couch. I can see Meghan in the corner of my eye. Texting on her phone really violently. Gritting her teeth in a pit of despair. What is exactly wrong with her? She's been acting really strangely ever since we got here... I suppose I should go and check on her.

"Are you alright.. you look really pale.." I asked her, really concerned about her wellbeing.

"Oh... I'm okay..." Her eyes lowered, forcing a soft smile. I can honestly tell it... she's not okay. She's just trying to hide it.

She remained silent, throughout the time, she just sat down, fiddling with her phone with a worried expression on her. Every time I check up on her, she lets out this fake blasted smile, something is clearly bothering her but she doesn't want to tell me...

"Hey! So what do we usually do in a slumber party, I've never really had one before." I attempted to start a conversation in order to break the ice a little. It's starting to really get tense here.

Suddenly an eerie sound overtakes me, giving shivers down my spine. BANG BANG BANG. It was a silent and yet powerful sound. Its sound reminds me of how you knock on a door... although this one is more violent and forceful.

My eyes widen by the sudden faint noises outside of the room. "Huh?! What was that?" I turned around to hear it more. It sounded like it came from somewhere on the top... is that from Lawrence?

"Huh? What sounds? I'm not really hearing anything." Meghan responded, rubbing her chin as to what I had said.

"You don't hear that sound? It sounds like the knocking off a door but a little more violent. It's a little faint but I could definitely hear it."

"Must be your imagination.. or could be a student arriving just now because of how their flight got canceled? I mean you guys arrived here during the night time, right? So I suppose some other person arrived late as well?" She proposed an idea. Which totally made sense so I guess that's the answer.

I guess... or it must have been just my imagination... I'm not really sure at this point. I could have sworn I heard a loud noise but Meghan could be right about it being a new transfer... but why would they be banging on their door though...

"By the way? What were you doing with your phone exactly? I saw you fiddling with it for quite a long time now." I asked her about what she was doing earlier.

"I was just checking on some of my posts and stuff... I get quite a lot of DMS and notification on starstagram so I have to check from time to time." She chuckled, showing me the millions of notification stored up in her phone... WOW, SHE HAS SO MANY LIKES AND SHARES... I heard that's really good right? Not really sure since I'm not very tech-savvy.

"You have so many likes and shares and your following count is actually very high."

"Yup. Since I'm a starstagram star, whatever I post usually gets a thousand likes in a few minutes so. I was a bit used to it. I post every day so I always get notifications!" She responded.. although she wasn't exactly too happy... she was a bit hesitant and dismissive.

"Oh? So what did you post today then?" I inquired her furthermore about her starstagram account. She sighed, resting her head on her hand as she placed it in the table. "I took a little hiatus from starstagram. So I haven't really been uploading very much..."

Huh? I wonder why she took a break? I mean she's a star... and that's pretty much her work so that's quite odd... "Why did you quit though? Is there a reason to quit? I mean you attract a lot of people's attention. Isn't that wonderful to be adored by quite a lot of people?"

"Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy the attention people give me. Actually I get handed business deals so I earn a living with this although..." She paused for a second, fidgeting with her hand. "You don't really attract the best people. Most of the people are usually fine and they adore you but a few people, take it to the extreme, and do something to you directly..."

"Oh! I guess that's a good reason to quit for a bit!" I responded cheerfully to her, trying to cheer her up.

"By the way... are you really close with Lawrence?" She suddenly asks me about Lawrence. I was a bit caught off guard but I answered. "Yes. Lawrence usually does everything for me. He can cook, clean, and do the household chores. I've always had him by my side to do things. I could never live without him. Although why do you ask?"

"I... nothing.. I was just curious that's all! I never really got along with my siblings so I wished that they were never born. Good for you that you're in good terms with your brother." She grinned a little before turning back to her phone again. With her eyebrows lowered and her mouth in a frown. "I thought you'd be the same with me..."

POV: Lawrence Harrington

The loud crackling noise of the door echoed along the dark narrow hallway. Without any sort of escape, I knew damn well that when the person on the other side can easily end me. Just by the looks of this, he doesn't really have the best intentions...

The person inside is desperate to get in. Like a feral hunter trying to get its prey. The chair held on for as long as it could from the person on the other side. I started to tremble in fear, looking around carefully in the bathroom at what I could use as a weapon.

The more I looked around, scrummaging all over the place the more hopeless I became. THERE'S NO GODDAMN TOOL OR ANYTHING TO DEFEND MYSELF! THIS IS SUCH A FUCKING UNFORTUNATE SITUATION TO BE IN.
