Sacrifices

*South Korea*

Tamim had locked herself in and hadn't allowed anyone to talk to her.

Her parents were worried and perhaps thought she was angry about being called home from school.

However, the next day Tamim refused to go to school, she did not step out of her room and when all hope seemed to be lost her best friend came visiting.

It seemed that their daughter had called her over and both won't be going to school today.

"Li, I need your help...." Tamim told her friend.

***************************

"We should check on both of them, don't you think?" Jun hee asked her husband, she was in her room still in her nightgown. It was definite they wouldn't be going to work as they were trying to figure out their mess.

"It might be her period, give her sometime"

Jake replied with his eyes fixated on the newspaper he was reading as he smoked from his pipe.

"You really need to stop smoking if you want to see your grandchildren and who even reads newspaper these days?" Jun hee scolded Jake.

"It's cold I'm keeping myself warm.." he said still with the pipe in his mouth.

"Wow, what a good excuse for death" she mocked.

"Fine!" Jake replied then threw the pipe into the metallic bin.

"I'm going to check on the kids, you should take your bath because when I get back I might as well learn to swim in the bathtub. I'm doing you a favor" She grinned as she left for Tamim's room.

"Women...." Jake added but Jun hee did not hear for she was gone already.

Tamim's room was two rooms away from theirs so she didn't not hasten her steps. In the hallway, she saw Li who had gone to grab some lemonade and was now returning into the room.

Li had a smile plastered on her face, she didn't seem to notice her. Jun hee decided to eavesdropp.

The door was left open a little as Lillian couldn't close the door with the snacks in her hands.

"So what is your ideal man?" Li asked with a chip in her mouth.

"Rich and responsible" Tamim answered smiling but it didn't reach her eyes.

"oOoOO....young or old?

"Anyone, as long as he can take care of his family" she giggled.

"Awww...so romantic"

"What is your ideal time of marriage?"

"I like to marry young..who knows I might get aquainted in highschool..." She replied joyfully.

"So..." Li's voice trailed off as Jun hee was engrossed in Tamim's reply.

This was good news, Tamim would probably agree to the marriage after all she rushes to tell her husband.

Li stands up and closes the door and afterwards hi fived Tamim.

"Jaeeee!" Jun hee screamed.

"Whattt...woman you need to learn to calm down and not give an heart attack"

"I just saw Li and Tamim and they were playing a game" she explained.

"Oh, okay, great" Jake answered with sarcasm.

Jun hee then explained what she heard to him, and Jake was quite surprised and happy about it but he felt off about something.

Tamim never opens her door even just a little, her friend makes sure of that too.

Jun hee rubs that hunch off by saying that Li's hands were occupied and rather scolded him for doubting her words.

Either ways calls were made and dates were fixed.

And Tamim sacrificed her lifetime for her parents perfect life willingly.
