Woods // Chapter 4

While we were walking the place was gorgeous! The leaves were like a dark greenish blue, I even forgot why we were walking because the place was just beautiful! There was a bunch of pretty flowers and- "uhhh, guys... we have been walking for hours now, normally it would only take like 10 or 15 minutes" Liam said, everyone looked around. "Oh my gosh! You mean that we have been walking all this time, and no one noticed!?" Mia said, as she facepalmed, "WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE WE ARE!" Aaron said panicking.

"WE ARE GONNA LIVE HERE FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!" Aaron says, "no we're not Aaron!" says Mia. "Guys for real! What are we going to do?" I said "we could go home," Says Liam, " *sigh* come on man, take this seriously," Mia said, facepalming. I decided to lay down, *yawn* "tired already? It's still bright out!" Liam said. "So? We have been walking for like hours," I said, looking up at him. "Oh... yeah" Liam chuckled nervously.

"So... any plans on how we can find our way back home?" I asked, "I mean sense we were just going straight, can't we just turn back?" Lucas says. "What? No we didn't just go straight... I think...", Mia says looking down at the ground. We stayed silent for awhile, until- "hey! What are y'all kids doing this far in these wood? You know that's against the rules!", I man said in armor. "Huh? Wh-" I didn't get to finish before Lucas cut me off, " s-sorry sir, we weren't paying attention", said Lucas, "whatever, just you kids go back home", said the man. "WAIT!" Said Mia, the man stopped, and turned around. " What is it?" The man asked. "Well we got lost... so can you show us the way back?" Mia asked. "*Sigh* yes, follow me," the man said, and then he turned around, and walked as we followed.

"Walking stinks!" Aaron said, it has been an hour and half sense the man came. "You walk all the time! Stop complaining!" Mia shouts back at him. I laughed at these two, they seem to fight a lot. "It's not funny Alice! I'm tired of walking!" Aaron complained, "I SAID TO SHUT THE FREAK UP!" Mia shouted at him once more, that only made me laugh harder! "Alright guys stop wasting your energy on useless fights," Liam says, "only if someone stops complaining!" Mia turns her head to Aaron, Aaron just crossed his arms and turns his head away. "Serious you guys got to stop fighting!" Cookie said, "whatever..." Mia replied.

As we walked there were a bunch of vines everywhere! And when I was looking at them I realized something, I moved the vines out the way to see a tiny wooden house. "Hey guys look!" I whispered, they all looked at the house, " oh that's cool! Do you think anyone lives there?" Lucas asked whispering, "maybe it's abandon," Liam whispered. "Let's check it out!" I whispered, "what? No! The guard doesn't want us doing that he's going to catch us!" Says Cookie.... "I'm gonna take the chance!" I said, and before anyone could say anything I ran to the house and the others ran after me. The guard noticed And started chasing us, "what are y'all kids going get back here!" The guard shouted, this made me laugh and once he far enough, we all hid.

"Who are y'all, and what are y'all doing!" Someone said behind us, we all turned around to see a girl, around our age, maybe a little younger, with a kind of torn cloak, brown skin, and darker brown hair with pink eyes. "So?" The girl said. "Oh! Um we wanted to see if the house was abandoned..." I said rubbing the back of my neck. "Well it's not because I live here," the girl replied. "Oh..." I said, "well now that you know, you can go away," she said. "Um yeah about that... we are now hiding away from a guard..." I said nervously. "Tch, okay well, it's not my problem," she said as she started walking away. "C'mon can we please stay with you! And the guard is around your house!" Cookie said, she stopped and turned around, "he's at my house!?" The girl said, "yeah..." Cookie replied, "tch okay I will deal with it, and no y'all are not staying with me!" The girl replied, and continued walking, "c'mon!" Cookie pleaded, "no!" The girl replied, "please!" Cookie pleaded again, "I said no!" The girl replied annoyed, "please! Have a heart!" Cookie said begging, "okay okay fine...." The girl said.

We followed her to her house in complete silence, until Cookie broke it, "I forgot to ask what's your name?" Cookie asked the girl. "Zharia.." The girl replied, "wow I love that name!" Cookie said, "whatever..." Zharia said. It didn't take long for the guard to find us, "there y'all are! You can't run from a guard y'all are under arrest!" The guard said, we all gasped, but then Zharia was able to pin him down, "No you won't," Zharia said, and grabbed a glowing string and tied his hands together. "Woah! Zharia that was cool!" Me and Cookie said. Zharia ignored the compliment, and told us to follow her. She grabbed him threw him out the way, dang she must be strong! When we entered the house it wasn't to much going on just a bed a few items like weapons, and a little thing to sit on. "Did you make this house?" I asked, "yeah," Zharia replied, as she sat in her "bed". "How long have you been here?" I asked, "few years maybe," Zharia replied. FEW YEARS!? "W-what about your parents", I asked, "they died in the war... and I just ran off..." Says Zharia. "Oh... I'm sorry," I said looking down at my feet, "it's fine! It really is..." says Zharia.

Wait.... war? There was a war here? I wonder what it was about.... wait a minute... "guys y'all can't stay here! What about your parents or whatever!?" I said standing up looking at everyone. "Actually we kind of live alone," Liam said, "well okay that's normal for you but for the people under 18 you can't live alone..." I said, "the rest escaped from an orphanage, except for my brother Aaron, he lives with me." Liam said. Okay! This place is messed up! Was the war that bad?! "What was the war about?" I asked, they all looked at me surprised, "how do you not know about the war!?" Most of them said. "Um... I don't know, but could you please tell me about it?" I said nervously, "okay? Well we are at war with dragons, dragons wanted to prove that they are the most powerful species, and doing that have caused problems, they banish humans from this world because, the knew the element would be their, they wanted to expand there nation or whatever you call it, because they think there worthy," Said Cookie.

You were shocked when they said, human. So they know about humans? I guess they don't know what they look like... "I'm a human..." I said, everyone paused and looked at you, " aha! I knew something about you was familiar!" Mia said proudly. How does she know? "I looked at a book about them and, I knew you looked familiar! They had pictures of humans in them!" Mia said, "we should check if she's the element!" Cookie said hopping up and down. "Yeah!" Everyone shouted... "but how exactly?" Liam said... "I know how," Zharia said standing up...
