Unapeasable Demon

When she saw Aria nearly begging to get out of the upcoming lecture, the desire to tease building within Aika only increased. She paced around in front of the door to act as if she was thinking through what she would say and do, but truthfully she already knew exactly what she wanted to say. The only reason she was delaying lecturing the idiot in front of her was to build tension and make her more worried about what she would say.

Finally, she stopped pacing and turned to look at Aria, schooling her face into a frown when in reality just looking at the nervous girl made her want to laugh. Aika lined herself up so she was perfectly in front of Aria's position on the bed, standing directly in front of the doorway. "So... you know what you did wrong?"

Nodding frantically and speaking quickly, Aria responded. "Yes! I shouldn't of done it."

"So, why do you think your actions were bad?"

Aria gulped and found herself lost... She knew what she had done was wrong, but she didn't really know why. All she did was ignore her illness a little and then try to use it to get her way. "I don't."

Seemingly disappointed, Aika shook her head slowly and took a small step closer before speaking. "How are you supposed to be apologizing sincerely if you don't even understand why what you did was dangerous?"

"How was it dangerous?! I'm perfectly fine, just a little sick..."

"Perfectly fine?!" Aika's calm face was finally cracked but instead of her earlier amusement, all she felt was anger. "You're saying passing out in the bathroom after throwing up with a high fever is perfectly fine?"

"But that was-" Aria wanted to explain that that had been the worst of it and she had gradually felt better ever since, even if just slightly, but was quickly interrupted.

"Do you know how worried I was? How worried I am?"

"What...?" Hearing Aika's words, a small feeling of guilt started to build inside Aria's chest and her heart clenched slightly.

"I woke up in the middle of the night and I found you collapsed on your side on the bathroom floor with the highest fever I've ever felt..." Looking into the distance, Aika thought back to that night. "I had no idea what to do, you know? I just... rushed you to the car and called for help." She took a deep breath to collect herself and her face went back to normal. "I know you already know about that night, but try to think about how it felt... and then you say you're perfectly fine? Even if you're doing better, you should be honest about how you feel so that that doesn't repeat itself. And now, you fake cough and act sick just to try to get me to watch a horror movie?"

With each word, Aria's face fell until at the end she looked horrible. She had been so wrapped up in everything that she didn't even think about how other people might feel after seeing her sick with the flu. In all her life, she'd never had anyone who actually cared about if she was sick or not. Yes, when she got a fever when she was younger her parents would make sure she didn't get any serious harm from it, but that was all. They had never actually cared about how she felt, they just did what they were supposed to do and that was it.

"I'm sorry. Sometime I forget you're not like my parents... I'm used to people doing what they are required to do and nothing more."

"I forgive you... just not again, okay?"

"Okay."

"Hmmm...." Aika slowly walked up to the bed and tilted her head before deciding to do one last thing to make Aria remember. She pushed her down gently and leaned over her, biting her left earlobe slightly harshly before standing up totally collected. "Now whenever you think about doing something like pretending you're okay or pretending you're sick in the future, you'll remember i'll bite your left ear every time you do."

Even once Aika left the room, Aria was just lying on the bed staring at the ceiling and thinking about what Aika had just done. When she'd first been pushed down and then seen Aika climbing on top of her, her heart had skipped a beat and she had closed her eyes in anticipation she didn't understand. Having her ear bitten didn't even register as painful until Aika had already left the room, it had just left her feeling disappointed.

Despite her feeling of disappointment, Aria had no idea what she was actually expecting and shook her head to clear the nonsensical thoughts. She was sure that it was just her fever causing her to have strange thoughts and nothing of importance.
