Framed for murder

''That is the kind of person he is. He will give you that money and then send his men to come after you. That man wouldn't even give you $1 million dollars, but he promised to give you a couple billions?'' Avery chuckled.

''I didn't take it!''

''Then, you have a target on your back.''

''What do you mean?''

''Minister Boris will suspect that you want the money for yourself. First, he was just looking to get rid of me but now, he is going to think that you an accomplice.''

Fiona held Avery's hands on the table and leaned closer. ''Listen to me carefully. If you want to be safe, then you have to leech on Prosecutor Oak. He is the only one who can protect you from harm.''

''As for why I used your name and why you are connected to this, you will find out in due time. I don't have much time left. The Minister will definitely not let me off because I know too much. I have a diary at home. Go to Claus Restaurant and look for a woman called Claudia. She will give you a key. Use the key to open the gym. The gym is a safe place. You can move in there. Once you are there, open my drawer and find my diary. Read it, you will be able to find some answers as to why you and I are connected.'' Fiona said anxiously.

''You are talking too fast, I can comprehend…'' Avery said and the door opened. Two special crime unit officers entered in their uniforms.

''We've being ordered to bring the suspect to the Women's correctional institute.'' One of them said. He was the leader of the Special Force Team.

''Avery, if I leave here, you won't be able to see me again.'' Fiona said and stood up.

''Wait!'' Avery stood up. 'Can I go with her? I just want to accompany her to the penitentiary. I won't cause any distractions.'' Avery said.

One of the officers spoke into the ear pod. ''Detective Sandas wants to follow the suspect. Okay, I will do that.'' He turned to Avery.

''You can join the van.'' The man said.

''No, Avery! If you join the van, you are going to die.'' Fiona said, trying to stop Avery.

''I don't care!'' Avery said confidently before going out with them. They met Prosecutor Oak and the Supreme Justice outside the door.

''Hey, Detective Sandas, are you crazy?'' Prosecutor Oak pulled Avery aside and asked. ''Why did you say that you would go with them? Don't you know how dangerous it is?''

''There is something I must find out myself. Also, I am not going to die that easily.'' Avery said.

''Hey! Why don't you ever listen to me? This is dangerous. Everyone here knows that woman is going to die on the way…'' Kai held Avery's hand.

''Prosecutor Oak, I see your grandfather has being able to convince you to step down from this case, but not me. Fiona told me that the Prime Minister was a contractor who wanted to purchase the orphanage at the time I was there but the reverend sister refused to sell it to him. A week later she died in an accident and the Minister took the land for free. That land is the same one that produces half of the country's mineral salts.''

''What?'' Prosecutor Oak looked surprised.

''That fire took my childhood away and my friends. I am going to ask her and know more about this. Besides, the Prime Minister will never let me die. I am important to him.''

''You are important to him?'' Prosecutor Oak looked at Avery suspiciously.

''All the money Fiona stole is in an international bank in my name. Without me, the Minister will never get those monies again!'' Avery said and walked away. She ran down the stairs and entered the van.

Prosecutor Oak cussed and looked at his grandfather. He shook his head and ran down towards his car. He was going to chase the van with his car.

''The detective seems important to Young Master. I haven't seen him get worried about a woman since Miss Anita.'' The secretary of the supreme Justice spoke.

''Go after them and make sure Kai and that detective are alright!'' The supreme Justice said to his secretary.

''Yes, my lord.'' The secretary said and walked away hurriedly.

….

Inside the van, Avery sat by the window. Fiona was kept in a cage inside the van and locked tightly. She turned and looked at Avery and smiled.

Avery looked at her with an obvious worried gaze. The van continued in a minimal speed and entered the highway.

The women's penitentiary was in a town which was a little far from the city. It was a 4hour journey.

There were four officers in the van. Two sat behind Avery, one in front of her, another sat next to the driver at the front seat.

The van turned and Fiona spoke. ''I want to go to the washroom. I must have drank a lot of water, my bladder is about to burst.''

''You are not allowed to go to the washroom. Hold it in. We will be there soon.'' The senior officer said.

''Can you hold your urine in? She is already shackled like this, how is she going to run away? If she urinates on herself and the van becomes smelly, will you take responsibility?'' Avery challenged the officer.

''Detective Sandas, this is not your jurisdiction. We are only taking you with us because your superior, Miss Mariah asked us to. She was afraid that you would cause a ruckus if you didn't come with us. Don't cross the line.'' The officer didn't look pleased. They had their own plan but the sudden appearance of Avery and her stubbornness, was going to compel them to change to plan B.

''Oh, is that so?'' Avery removed her phone saying. 'I should record this. This is against her human rights. I am going live with this recording…''

''Stop the car!'' The commander yelled and Avery got frightened.

''Why did you yell? Don't you know that is noise pollution?'' Avery turned and glared at the office.

The driver pulled over in the middle of nowhere. It was a road in between two forests that a lot of people hardly used. There were no CCTV cameras either.

Avery got down first and looked at the area. There wasn't a single house around, except the forest on both sides of the road.

When she saw the officer bringing Fiona out of the van, she walked over. ''You intentionally stopped here, right? Just look at this forest. It looks thick. What if she miss a step and stumble over?'' Avery asked.

''You were the one who asked her to stop here. Do you want us to go since she doesn't want to go into the forest?'' The commander asked impatiently.

''Avery, let it go. I am just going to ease myself. It's not like I am going to sleep there.'' Fiona said to Avery.

''They are clearly trying to make things difficult for you.'' Avery held Fiona's hand and the commander asked.

''Are you going with her?'' The leader asked.

''Yes, or do you want to go with her instead? I don't mind adding sexual harassment to the list of things I have to report about you.'' Avery replied.

''Detective Sandas, if you go with the criminal and anything happens, we shall have you take responsibility for it. Make sure you bring her back here in the next five minutes.''

The leader stepped back and watched Avery as she walked away with Fiona. He turned to one of the agents and stretched his hand. 'The phone...''

''Commander, that detective is being protected by Prosecutor Oak. He is already on his way to pick her up. If we suddenly change to plan B, then, both ladies will die.''

''The Minister wants both of them gone. I am just doing my job.'' The leader showed no remorse.

''But, the supreme judge sent a word that nothing must happen to his grandson and that detective.''

''Why is that detective full of trouble? First it was Constable Mariah asking me to make sure she is safe at all cost. Now a prosecutor and the Supreme Court Judge are even involved with her? What kind of woman is she?''

''I heard something from the station… it seems she is even related to the drug lord Adonis Birchwood.''

''Really?'' The commander asked and made the call. ''They went to the forest on the left. Do you see them?'' He asked a mysterious man.

''Yes, I do. They are right in front of me. Tell me, what do I need to do?'' The mysterious man asked.

''Make sure the woman in the picture dies and put the murder weapon in the other woman's hands.'' The commander said.

''Alright!''

The commander hung up and turned when he saw a car pulling over. Prosecutor Oak got down from the car and ran to them.

''Where is Avery?'' He asked right away.

''She is over there. Helping the criminal!'' The commander said sarcastically.

''You let them go there alone?'' Prosecutor Oak asked.

''She wanted to go alone. She said she would put a record on my name if I dare to go with them.'' The commander said and scoffed.

''If anything happens to Avery, I will not let you off so easily.''
