MISLED

"You don't want to do this." He warned again as he sat down relaxed on the sofa. "Bruce, warn them." "See, you don't want to bet on this game because you will only lose, My boss is the best, second to none." Bruce warned just as his boss told him to. "I'm not backing down." Val was determined. "Okay." The strange man who is Bruce's boss said as he sat upright while he got into position for the game. They started the game. To me, random pawns was been moved but to them it meant something. In less than five minutes, the son of a monkey who was Bruce's boss relaxed once again with a smirk on his face. Val's face was down cast with sweat dripping off her forehead; she had the look of someone who wished to be anywhere but in this same room. Chapter 12: Would she do the same for me?

I soon noticed the pained look she had on her face. I could only guess what was wrong with her. I could see she wasn’t strong enough to start moving.

“You okay?” I questioned as I hastened my footsteps from across the room–where I went to sit waiting for Valerie to wake up–to meet up with her so I can support her.

“Yeah, just a little dizzy with a pounding head.” She replied.

“I’ll call the doctor,” I said as I sharply hit the emergency button by the side of the bed.

“No,” Valerie said a little bit too late.

“Sorry, I already kinda did,” I said giving her an apologetic face. She frowned and turned her head away from me. She looked so cute right now, like a baby. Soon the doctor arrived.

“What happ…” I cut his question short as I started answering immediately without waiting for him to finish.

“She says she’s feeling dizzy and her head is pounding.”

“It’s fine, doctor,” Valerie said ailing.
