##Chapter 20 That Works

She only felt abashed this time. No thoughts of refusal crossed her mind.

The bathroom door was opened, and out came Nathan with a bathrobe. His eyes gleamed with sheer desire as if he was to devour the best delicacy of this world.

However, he clenched his fist and calmed himself down as he moved toward the bed. He sat down, flung his legs in, and sat with his back to the wall.

He stole a glance at Sharon beside him and reached out to feel her face. It was almost sizzling.

"What's wrong? Feeling off?"

Sharon kept her eyes shut and shook her head.

Suddenly, Nathan bent over above her. His breath fell on her forehead, making her even more nervous. She started to gnaw on the edge of the blanket.

Her eyes, her nose, her everything looked just perfect.

Nathan kept looking at her. As he saw that she was out of reaction, he proceeded to kiss her on the forehead.

"What was that for?"

She opened her eyes wide and stared at Nathan.

She was only terrified, but to Nathan, her eyes had all the charm in the world.

He paused for some seconds. Then, he pressed his lips on her forehead, her brows, her cheeks, and her mouth. Suddenly, Sharon threw him aside.

The two looked at each other. Something interesting was going on in the air.

"What's happening?"

Why is my heart racing?

Nathan just got tossed aside, but his body kept urging him forward.

He leaped at Sharon while she started to fight back.

"I did promise you all that, but you're my wife! We're supposed to have fun..."

"No! You fucker!"

She tried to get out from under him. They surely were married, but that didn't mean that she had to offer herself to him.

"I'm not doing anything much..."

Sharon was frightened because of his touch, but she could see that this was his bottom line. If she still resisted, she couldn't imagine what would happen.

With her resistance out of the way, he finally calmed down. The atmosphere started to cool down, but Sharon could still feel her heart racing.

Meanwhile, at the Evans.

"Is everything ready for tomorrow's meetup?"

Marvin started questioning Renata the second he got home.

Renata then got up and paced around with pride.

"Chill. I'm sure that it's out of question after the meeting tomorrow. This is going to go well."

"Good. This has to do with how far our group can go in the near future. You understand that much, right?"

Once he thought about all the interest involved in this, he couldn't get happier. Such cooperation was something he never even dreamed of.

Nathan's Genui group had its power all over a couple of major cities. Something like Evans group could never match up to it, not to mention to work with it. Yet this time around, Genui group reached out to them and wanted to cooperate. With Marvin's efforts and Renata's photo in the contract, they were sure the cooperation could go well. The entire Evans family felt blessed.

"Of course. I know what it weights,"

Renata said while giving Marvin a wink. Watching her blush, Marvin knew what she was trying to say. He couldn't care less about what she would do for the contract, so long as the cooperation could go well.

The next day.

Sharon opened her eyes. Suddenly, she froze there.

"That smell on my hands... Did he..."

she hurried to get up as she wondered. It was at that moment that Nathan came into the bedroom. Their eyes met.

In a well-tailored suit, he looked fabulous with that smile.

Sharon froze for a few seconds and then rushed to clean up all the fluid on her hands.

"Come down for breakfast when you're done. I've got some business coming up today."

Sharon washed her hands time and again. Finally, she came out of the bathroom feeling better. She mumbled to herself,

"What kind of a beast are you... You even used my hand to... That was disgusting."

As she went downstairs, the nice smell of a hot breakfast and well-dressed Nathan welcomed her. It was hard for one to believe that he was the same guy as the beast last night.

"Here's some iced milk."

"Yeah. I'll go and take a walk outside."

Ever since she got the ride, she felt it much easier to move around. At least she didn't have to get out on foot.

"Be safe, eh? Call me whenever you need a hand."

He knew instantly that she went out to gather news about the cooperation, but he did nothing to stop her.

As he finished his breakfast, he started for work.

Right after he left, Sharon drove to Evans group to keep an eye on them.

Meanwhile, at the Evans.

"I'm off for the meeting, dad."

"Yeah. Got everything you needed?"

Marvin looked up as he talked to Renata. She looked slay with all the makeup.

Even the stray strands of hair were finely designed. That tight red dress was also just the thing to show her figure.

"I've got everything right here,"

she waved her files at him and headed downstairs.

"Boss."

"Boss."

All the employees greeted her as she passed by. Many couldn't help looking back.

"Is she going out on a date or something?"

"Well... She's best at putting the two together. A contract in a date or a date in a contract. And the point is, that works, you know?"
