"And show that chicken scratch to the principal!"

Nathaniel walked down the steps dejectedly. Chloe tripped him. "Oh, look! He can't even walk straight!"

She laughed. "Th-that's enough, Chloe!" She paused.

"And who do you think u are to tell me what to do?" She inquired. She glared at the male. Marc looked away.

"W-we're all tired of you bullying others." Nathaniel looked at his friend with wide eyes. Chloe scoffed.

"Well, then you all shouldn't be such clutz!" She protested. Miss Mendeleiev crossed her arms. "All of you! That's enough! Nathaniel, go to the principal's office! Chloe, you'll be attending detention for the next week! Marc, keep your mouth shut or you'll join her!"

Marc hesitantly sat back down. "S-sorry..." In all honestly, he didn't know what came over him.

He just knew he couldn't stand by and let Chloe bully Nathaniel like that. She has gotten away with enough. And he's tired of it.

Chloe groaned. "Do you know who my daddy is? He's the mayor of Paris, and I can have you fired!" Miss Mendeleiev didn't look convinced.

"I'll take my chances."

"You'd be doing me a favor anyway."

Chloe sat in her chair, lounging while reading a magazinw. Sabrina was next to her doing her nails. "And then I got detention! Detention!"

Sabrina gasped. "Oh no! Chloe, that's terrible!" Chloe threw her magazine down.

She had tears in her eyes. Sabrina paused in her work. "Chloe? What's wrong? I'm sure we can clear things-"

"Why won't he notice me?"

Sabrina was cut off by Chloe's sudden question. "Who?" Chloe sniffed.

"N-Nathaniel! No matter how hard I try! He's always looking at Marc!" She was bawling. Sabrina tried to comfort her.

"I-I'm sure he sees you. He's just nervous!" She handed Chloe her smoothie. Chloe just swatted it away.

"I've tried everything! First, it was Marinette. Now it's Marc! I've liked him for years, Sabrina! Years!" She threw her arms up. "I even tried making him jealous by pretending to be obsessed with Adrien!"

Sabrina didn't know what to do. Chloe never acted like this. She never showed her true feelings to her.

But as this cycle of unrequited love continues, Sabrina might as well join it. She's liked Chloe since she helped her her first day. She frowned.

"Don't be upset, Chloe. Akumas come when you're upset. Ladybug-" "I don't care what Ladybug thinks anymore! I only care about what Nathaniel thinks! It figures-the one thing I want I can't have..." She let the tears roll.

Sabrina felt her hands shaking. She had to leave. "U-um, Chloe. It's getting late and I have to g-get home..."

"Fine! Leave me! Just like everyone else!"

Marc sat under the staircase, writing. He was working on his special story. His cheeks were tinted pink as he wrote.

"Hey, Marc." He slammed his journal shut. "N-Nathaniel!"

Said male smiled and sat down across from him. "What are you working on?" Marc hugged his journal close to him.

"N-nothing..." He averted his gaze. Nathaniel's smile faltered.

"W-well, I just wanted to thank you for yesterday."

Marc blushed. "Th-that wasn't anything...I'm sorry you had to go to the principal's office." Nathaniel shook his head.

"I didn't get in trouble. It turns out Mr.Damacles is a fan of my blog. Who would've thought?" He gave a nervous laugh. Marc chuckled.

"There you are!"

Both males turned to see a certain blonde standing there with her fists placed on her hips. "I need to talk with you," She said to Nathaniel. Her cheeks were dusted pink.

"I-I'm sorry, Chloe. I didn't mean to get you in trouble." Marc watched the interaction. Nathaniel seemed nervous.

"G-go away, Chloe," he squeaked. Chloe turned to him. "Beat it, loser!"

Chloe looked back at Nathaniel. "I don't care about yesterday. I need to tell you something....in private." Nathaniel furrowed his brows.

"W-what?" He glanced at Marc. Marc frowned and started gathering his things together. "I-I'll be in the art room waiting for you," he mumbled before getting up and leaving.

Chloe cleared her throat. "Now. First off...I want to...a-apo...lo...gize...for yesterday." The words tasted like vinegar against her tongue.

"Can we...start over?"

Marc walked with Nathaniel down the stairs. "A-and you said?" He felt his hands grow clammy.

"I said yes. Everyone deserves a second chance. And it's nice that Chloe's willing to change." Marc almost felt his heart stop. He knew what this meant.

Nathaniel would leave him. He would be alone again. He didn't want to be alone.

Marc knew of Chloe's feelings for Nathaniel. He knew because she was his rival. But he thought that since he was his best friend...he'd have the better advantage.

"Y-you're really giving her a second chance? But it's Chloe!" He needed to discourage him from doing this. He couldn't lose to Chloe.

He wouldn't lose to Chloe.

"And she deserves to be heard out like everyone else. Marc, are you ok? Why are you so upset?" Nathaniel paused at the school's doors. Marc looked away.

"Nothing. I just don't think you should waste your time with Chloe. She's a bad person, and she won't change. No matter what you do or say." He slugged his bag back over his shoulder and walked away from his friend. Nathaniel watched him leave.

He didn't understand why he was so upset. He just hoped he wasn't upset with him. He shook his head.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow then!"

"I'm sorry, Chloe." Nathaniel averted his gaze. "But I don't see you that way."

Chloe had tears brimming in her eyes. She knew. She knew he wouldn't like her back.

He likes Marc. Why wouldn't he? He's perfect.

She sniffed and wiped her eyes. "But we can still-" "No! No...just- I need to go!"

She ran away, leaving Nathaniel standing there. He sighed. He had no clue Chloe liked him.

And now he felt terrible. He didn't want to reject her like that, but he couldn't just lie. He turned when he was stopped by a sudden incoming object.
