Nathaniel x Loner! Reader

(A/n)- This was requested by @KagamiSumire. Go check them out! Thanks for reading!

You walked by all the kids who were all chatting. Part of you wanted to jump into a conversation, but the rest said you shouldn't. "Hey, (Y/n). What's up?"

You turned your head to see Marinette with Alya. They were always trying to talk to you. You didn't understand why.

"N-nothing."

It was silent. You were always terrible at making a conversation with someone. They smiled and walked away, finding Nino and Adrien.

You sighed and walked inside the school. The only other person in the classroom was Nathaniel. He spotted you and smiled.

You turned away and sat in your seat. You've had a crush on him for the longest time. It was so difficult to even face him.

You opened up your sketchbook and started drawing random things. Class soon started and you put your sketchbook away. "Today you'll be doing a buddy project."

You looked at the empty seat next to you. Looks like you'll be doing this by yourself. Yay.

The teacher said what you would be doing and passed out rubrics. You read over yours and smiled to yourself. It was going to be about art.

You were going to do a research report on your favorite artist. You started working and took down notes. "Nathaniel! Are you doing work?"

You turned to the red head and saw his cheeks flush red. He hid his sketchbook underneath his desk and started working. He glanced over at you but quickly turned back.

You shrugged your shoulders and went back to work.

When school ended you walked home and listened to music. You loved to listen to music when you were alone, which was quite often. That also gave you time to make up your own tunes and such.

You got home and went straight to your room. You started drawing and singing. Then there was a knock on the door.

Your mom came in. "(Y/n), one of your friends came to visit you." Your eyes widened.

You didn't have any friends. So who could it be? You looked at your mother and saw Nathaniel behind her.

He waved shyly and smiled. "H-hey, (Y/n).", he said. You raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why are you over here?"

Your mother left the room, having to attend chores. "Well, my mom said I should hang out with some friends. And you're the only one that ever really talks to me." You nodded your head and motioned for him to sit next to you.

"So what do you want to do?" He glanced at your sketchbook. "You draw?"

You grabbed it and held it close. "N-not really. Just a few scribbles." He took the sketchbook from you and flipped through the pictures.

"There's a note in here."

You immediately jerked it out of his hands and laughed nervously. "Yeah, that was for extra pencils." "Oh...ok."

It was silent for a while until you broke the silence. "So, what do friends do when they hang out?" Nathaniel shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't really know. I've seen movies where they play truth or dare." You thought of how you could do that. "Well, neither of us have anyone's phone number, so..."

You decided to play a board game. "Which one?", you asked him. Nathaniel pointed to the chess board.

You started playing chess. Turns out Nathaniel was very good at that because he beat you numerous times. You sighed and looked at the clock.

"Nathaniel, you might want to go home. It's already past eignt." He hesitantly got up from his seat but looked at you. "One more game?"

You smiled and complied with his request. You both started playing again. Nathaniel won again. You were about to say something when he pressed his lips against yours.

"Checkmate."

(A/n)- I know this probably isn't as good as it could be but it's all I could think of. Thanks for reading! Bye for now!
