Nathalie x Kwami! Reader

(A/n)- This was a requested one shot. And none of this is really canon! Just a heads up! Nathalie basically takes Emilie's place in this. And you take Duusu's place. Thanks for reading!

"(Y/n)...what have I done?!"

Nathalie walked down the street, humming to herself. She looked down at her phone and saw that she was right on time. She caught sight of the school ahead.

This was her first day at Franciose Dupont. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't nervous. She pulled her sweater back over her shoulders.

Just as she easy about to round the corner, her eyes caught an old man crossing the street. Nathalie rushed to help him. She ran up to him and took his hand.

"Sir, let me help you."

The old man smiled. "Thank you," he said gratefully. Nathalie gave a curt nod as she helped him cross the street.

The sound of the bell caught Nathalie offguard. t, she thought. She was late.

Nathalie sighed. On her first day. She turned to the man, ready to speak when he vanished.

She quirked an eyebrow. Then she shook her head. She didn't have time to question anything.

She was late. Nathalie ran down the street and to the school. She raced into the classroom where she apologized for her tardiness and took a vacant seat.

"...Would you like to introduce yourself?"

Nathalie let out a sigh as she slumped against her chair. She had made a terrible first impression and nobody seemed to like her. Her mother always told her to never mind what others do, say or think but she found it was harder to listen to that the older she got.

As she set her bag down, something fell out. She glanced down and hummed in curiosity. It was the box that that old man had given her.

She picked it up with hesitation. "Now what could you be?" She mumbled to herself. The man had said to wait until she got home to open it-that it would draw attention.

She gave it one last look before gently opening it. A sudden blue light filled the room and blinded her. The box fell fk the ground with a thud as she blocked her face from the glare. And then it faded.

"Hello, Holder! My name is (Y/n)!"

Nathalie put her arms down and gasped. There was a blue, floating creature smiling at her. She panicked.

"Mom! There's a flying thing in my room!" Ahe rushed to her feet and ran to the door. You frowned. "P-please don't be scared! Let me explain! Please!"

Nathalie paused as she gripped the door handle. She turned slowly to face you. You have her a reassuring smile.

"And...you talk?" You giggled. "Silly! Of course I talk! So let me introduce myself!"

You did your signature spin. "My name is (Y/n). I'm the peacock mirsculous' kwami. Now, what is a kwami? In simple terms, we're magical creatures that aid holders in using their super powers!" Nathalie stated at you in awe.

Your smile faltered. "U-um...did I say something wrong?" She wasn't speaking.

"Oh, no! I'm sorry, please forgive me! Sometimes I speak without thi-" "N-no!" Nathalie managed to shout.

"You...didn't say anything wrong. But I don't understand. You turn people into superheroes? As in Lady Beetle and Kitty Noir?" You nodded your head. "Yes, and you will be Mayura!"

Nathalie tried to process the information. "B-but I can't be a superhero! I'm not cut out to fight villains!" She cried. You frowned.

"Master Fu never makes a mistake in choosing a holder. He chose you for a reason,  Nathalie. You have potential, and he saw that." You looked to the hair piece sitting in its box. You grabbed it and handed it to Nathalie.

"Here, put this on. It's your miraculous."

And thus began yours and Nathalie's journey of fighting villaine and saving Paris.

"Pound it!" The two heroes called as they fist bumped. Mayura turned to leave. "W-wait, my lady!"

She paused. "The answer is still no, Hawkmoth. Now, please. Go home." And with that she leapt off and to her home.

She transformed and there stood Nathalie. "Great work out there, Nathalie! You sure showed them! Take that, and that, and that!"  you mimicked her actions in battle.

Nathalie chuckled. "Thanke, (Y/n). But you did great out there too. How about some (F/s) to celebrate another successful battle?" You cheered and did another twirl in the air.

"Yay! Yay! Yay!"

You flew right over to the (F/s) container and waited for Nathalie to give you one/some. As you took the treat from her you sat down and started eating. Nathalie sat down next to you and sighed from exhaustion.

"What's wrong, Nathalie?" You asked as this finished your (F/s). The girl turned to you. "It's Hawkmoth. No matter how many times I tell him I'm not interested, he still insists on pursuing me."

She looked at her wall decorated with photos of Gabriel. He was her inspiration as a fashion designer, a friend, and her crush. He was perfect.

But just recently this new hero, Hawkmoth, has joined the team. And he has fallen head over heels in love with Mayura. But Mayura doesn't love him back.

Nathalie wasn't trying to be mean, but she couldn't do that to the Male. Besides, she was madly in love with this other person. But she couldn't tell Haekmoth that.

The heroes couldn't share any information about their civilian lives. It could lead to them finding out their identities and then Onix would find out! They couldn't let that happen.

(Just fyi, I'm making up the villain's name because I don't know who could've been the villain before Hawkmoth. I imagine it as like the ox miraculous or something but you can invision whatever miraculous you want.)

You hummed in thought. "Well, I say just let him down easy. Let him know that you don't want to start a relationship built on nothing but blind trust. That you don't know him under the mask, and he doesn't know you." Nathalie thought over your words.

"Can I have another/more (F/s)?"

Nathalie giggled. "Yes, you can have another/more (F/s)." You smiled as she gave you the treat.

Nathalie sat in silence as you finished your treat. She glanced at you. The only friend she had that knew her as Nathalie and as Mayura, the only friend she has that she feels she can freely speak to, the only friend she has that hasn't left her.

"What would I do without you, (Y/n)?"

"I'm sorry, Hawkmoth. But...I can't. We don't even really know each other. We can't be together." Mayura looked at the Male sympathetically. Hawkmoth balled his fist.

"No...you're wrong. I love you, Mayura. I know everything about you, everything about your life. I know...your identity." He looked down in shame. He didn't want her to find out this way.
