A cell phone
As he rummaged through his belongings, his hand closed around the familiar shape of his phone. He pulled it out and examined it, feeling a pang of nostalgia. He missed the world back home, with its constant hum of electricity and the ease of communication.
But as he turned the phone on, he was met with a dead screen. No signal, no battery life. He cursed under his breath, realizing he had forgotten to pack a charger.
