The Bastion Showdown

Ethan stood at the entrance of the Bastion, the blackstone walls towering over him like a dark fortress from a nightmare. Even though he knew exactly what this place was, having raided many Bastions in the Minecraft game, seeing it here in this real world filled him with a sense of dread. But he had no choice, he needed resources, gold, and, more importantly, a netherite upgrade.

Taking a deep breath, he whispered to himself, "Alright, this is it. Just stay calm, move quickly, and don't get caught."

With his sword in hand and shield ready, Ethan cautiously entered the dark structure. The corridors were filled with eerie noises, Piglin grunts and distant echoes of battle. His heart raced. He knew what lay ahead. Piglins were dangerous, but the real threat was the Piglin Brutes, the bigger, stronger ones that guarded the treasure.

After navigating through several hallways and dodging wandering Piglins, Ethan finally found what he was looking for, a treasure room. His eyes locked onto the chest sitting in the middle of the room, surrounded by gold blocks. It was unguarded.

"This has to be it," he muttered, glancing around nervously before stepping forward. He carefully opened the chest, and there it was, gold ingots, enchanted items, and, at the bottom, the thing he needed most: a Netherite upgrade.

"Yes!" he whispered excitedly, grabbing the upgrade along with as much gold as he could carry. But just as he closed the chest, he heard the unmistakable sound of heavy footsteps behind him.

Turning slowly, Ethan's stomach dropped. A Piglin Brute stood in the doorway, its red eyes glowing with rage as it locked onto him. The Brute let out a roar, raising its massive golden axe.

"Great" Ethan muttered. "Why can't these things ever go smoothly?"

The Piglin Brute charged at Ethan with terrifying speed. Ethan barely had time to react, raising his shield just in time to block the first heavy swing. The force of the impact nearly knocked him off his feet.

"You're a lot stronger than I remember!" Ethan grunted as he staggered back, trying to keep his balance.

The Brute roared again, swinging its axe in wild arcs. Ethan dodged one swing, then blocked another, but the Brute was relentless. Each blow sent shockwaves through his arms, and his shield was already starting to crack.

"This is bad, this is really bad," Ethan muttered under his breath. "I need to end this quickly."

With a quick sidestep, he managed to slash at the Brute's side with his sword, but the creature's thick armor absorbed most of the blow. The Brute retaliated with another heavy swing, and this time, Ethan's shield shattered completely.

"Damn it!" Ethan tossed the broken pieces aside and gripped his sword tighter. "Okay, plan B."

The Brute lunged again, and Ethan dodged just in time, rolling to the side and slashing at its leg. The Brute howled in pain, but it wasn't enough to bring it down. It charged at him again, this time with even more fury.

Ethan could feel his arms growing weaker. His sword was chipping, and he was running out of options. He swung again, aiming for the Brute's head, but the creature knocked the sword out of his hand with a powerful swipe.

"Not good, not good!" Ethan muttered, scrambling to pull out his second sword. The Brute was on him in an instant, swinging its axe with deadly force. Ethan barely managed to block the blow with his sword, but the impact sent him crashing into the wall.

Gasping for breath, Ethan knew he had to make his next move count. The Brute raised its axe for one final blow, but Ethan was faster. With a desperate cry, he lunged forward and drove his sword into the Brute's chest.

The Brute let out a guttural roar before collapsing to the ground, its axe clattering to the floor beside it. Ethan stood over the body, panting heavily, his hands shaking from the adrenaline.

"That was way too close," he muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. He quickly grabbed his sword and checked his inventory. His shield was gone, his sword was badly damaged, and his armor had taken a beating.

Before Ethan could fully recover, he heard the angry grunts of Piglins echoing through the corridors. The fight had drawn their attention. Ethan cursed under his breath.

"Of course, now they notice," he muttered, turning and sprinting down the hallway. He could hear the Piglins behind him, their footsteps growing louder with every passing second.

Ethan burst out of the Bastion, his heart pounding as he made a beeline for the portal. But when he reached the clearing, his heart sank.

The portal was surrounded by Piglins, and worse, there were Brutes among them.

"No way... How am I supposed to get through that?" Ethan gasped. He didn't have time to think, though. The Piglins behind him were closing in fast, and he was running out of options.

"Come on, think!" Ethan whispered frantically. Then, an idea struck him. "Dig down! That's the only way!"

Ethan pulled out his pickaxe and began digging into the netherrack as fast as he could. The ground crumbled beneath his pickaxe, and he could hear the Piglins' angry grunts growing louder above him.

He dug deeper, not stopping until he was sure he was far enough down to avoid being followed. He collapsed into the small cave he had dug, breathing heavily, his body aching from the battle.

"Made it," Ethan muttered, sitting back against the netherrack.

His thoughts turned to the Netherite upgrade in his inventory. He had the key to making his armor stronger, but the price he had paid was almost too high. His sword was nearly broken, his shield was gone, and his armor was barely holding together.

Ethan pulled out some bread and began eating, slowly regaining his strength. This time it far more brutal than any situation he had faced before.

Still, he had made it this far, and now, with the Netherite upgrade in hand, he could become even stronger.
